Three people who thought their app was worse than it actually was

“My developers were costing me $3,000 a month.”

He was on Bubble with two developers on retainer, $3,000 a month between them, and the work never seemed to get finished. I looked at it and the problem wasn't the developers. It was how the app had been set up in the first place. Every change fought the last one.

I moved it off Bubble and rebuilt it properly once, for $5,000. That's less than two months of what he'd been paying.

It's live and running now, and he doesn't need a developer on retainer at all.

He'd spent $6,000 with a developer who then went quiet. The app worked but it was buggy and he had no idea what he actually owned.

I went through it. The build wasn't solid enough to grow on forever, but it was good enough to start taking money right now, which is not what he expected to hear. So we did a $2,000 cleanup on the worst of it, launched, and fixed the rest in small pieces as the money came in.

He's now doing over $11,000 a month.

I told him not to spend it. There were three things actually wrong, we fixed those for about $1,500, and he went to market with what he had. Customers started paying. He put some of the rest into ads.
