Triple Whale alternatives: cheaper or better fit for your brand?

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 5 min read

Short answer: Triple Whale is a dashboard and attribution tool for Shopify brands that pulls your store and marketing data into one place and has an AI assistant called Moby. Good alternatives depend on the job: Lifetimely ($149 a month for up to 3,000 orders) and BeProfit (from $49 a month) focus on profit, Northbeam (about $1,500 a month and up) focuses on ad attribution, and Polar Analytics is quote-based with a data warehouse included. If you need profit per product per channel, a custom dashboard is the cleanest fit.

You want to know whether something cheaper, or closer to your real question of profit, beats Triple Whale for your brand.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

Why do people look for a Triple Whale alternative?

Triple Whale is built around marketing: where did the sale come from, and what did the ads cost? That is a different question from "which product on which channel makes me money?" Owners usually start comparing for these reasons:

  • Price: Triple Whale's pricing page lists Free, Foundation, Automate and Enterprise plans and shows no dollar price for any of them. Foundation and Automate are booked through a walkthrough and Enterprise through the sales team, so you cannot compare it with tools that list prices until you ask.
  • Attribution is not profit: attribution tells you which ad got credit for an order. It does not tell you the profit after product cost, returns, shipping and fees.
  • Store-centered: if you sell on Amazon, Etsy or wholesale too, check how much of that side the tool covers before you rely on it.
  • Too many numbers: some owners want three numbers a morning, not a full dashboard of metrics.

What are the best Triple Whale alternatives?

Blur Studio (best value)

A ready-built, well-tested core with a different pricing model: no per-seat fees, and it covers almost all the features you'd actually need, usually working out to the best value for money. • Best for: Businesses that need software that works without barriers, no unnecessary fees and options to customize it to their needs.

Lifetimely

Lifetimely, from Amp, is a profit and customer lifetime value tool for Shopify stores. It shows daily profit and loss, customer acquisition cost, repeat purchase behavior and ad channels together. As of November 2026 the M plan, up to 3,000 orders a month, is $149 a month. XL is $499 (up to 15,000 orders), XXL is $749 (up to 25,000) and Unlimited is $999. Every paid plan includes all features, and an Amazon add-on is $75 a month.

  • Best for: Shopify brands that care about profit and repeat customers more than ad credit.

BeProfit

BeProfit is a profit analytics tool for online stores. As of November 2026: Basic $49 a month (450 orders), Pro $99 (900), Ultimate $149 (1,700, adds real-time P&L, UTM attribution and lifetime value cohorts) and Plus $249 (for multiple shops, marketplaces and channels). Extra orders on the lower plans cost $0.30 each. Every plan includes a connection so you can ask questions of your data in Claude or ChatGPT.

  • Best for: Smaller stores that want a low entry price and clear profit numbers.

Northbeam

Northbeam is a marketing attribution tool that gives multi-touch credit to each ad and channel. Its pricing page lists Starter at $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, and Professional at $3,500 a month for brands spending up to $500,000 a month. Enterprise is custom. Every tier is quote-based.

  • Best for: Brands with a large ad budget where attribution is the main question.

Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics is a data platform for ecommerce brands and agencies. It includes a dedicated data warehouse (Snowflake), unlimited users and unlimited history on every plan, with reporting, attribution and AI agents on top. Pricing is based on your annual gross merchandise value, so you get a quote.

  • Best for: Brands and agencies that want their own warehouse of data and custom reports.

Attribution versus profit: the distinction that matters

Two tools can both show a "ROAS" (return on ad spend, revenue divided by ad cost) number and mean different things. An attribution tool answers where the order came from. A profit tool answers what was left after costs. A made-up example: an ad brings in $10,000 of sales on a product with a 30 percent margin after returns. The ROAS looks fine, but after shipping and fees the profit may be near zero. If you buy only an attribution tool, that is easy to miss.

A worked example with made-up numbers

Say you run a Shopify brand with 1,500 orders a month, selling mostly on Shopify with a small Amazon side. Lifetimely M covers up to 3,000 orders at $149 a month, so about $1,788 a year, and the Amazon add-on brings that to $2,688. BeProfit Ultimate at $149 a month covers 1,700 orders, the same yearly cost without Amazon. Northbeam Starter at $1,500 a month would be $18,000 a year. Those are very different bills, and they answer different questions. Pick the question first, then the bill.

Also count your own time. A tool that takes four hours a week to keep clean costs more than its price tag. Ask in the trial how it handles refunds, discount codes, bundles and products whose cost changes mid-year, because those are the places where profit numbers drift.

What if you need profit per product per channel?

Most dashboards give you profit per store, or per ad. Few give you one row per product and one column per channel, using the correct unit cost on each sale. That is a table problem more than a dashboard problem: pull orders from every channel, apply your cost table, net out returns and fees, and show one number. It is exactly what I describe in the KPI dashboard guide, and the Amazon version is in build your own Amazon profit dashboard. Need something completely custom?

Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes none of these fit, and what you need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. How I'd approach this

Decide your question first. If it is "which ads work", look at Triple Whale or Northbeam. If it is "am I making money", start with Lifetimely or BeProfit, which cost far less. Run a trial with one month of real orders and check one product by hand against what the tool says. If the numbers disagree and you cannot see why, that tool is not ready for you.

If you sell on three or more channels or have unusual costs such as bundles, a custom profit table will serve you better than any dashboard you rent.
