Veeqo vs ShipStation: which should you ship with?
Short answer: Veeqo is a shipping and inventory tool owned by Amazon, and its shipping plan is free with unlimited orders, users and products. ShipStation is a shipping platform that charges a monthly fee that rises with your shipment volume, starting at $14.99 for 50 shipments a month. If you sell on Amazon plus other channels and want stock counts to sync, Veeqo is the lower-cost start. If you want phone support, freight shipping, deep automation rules or a large list of connected channels, ShipStation is the stronger fit.
You sell on more than one channel and want to know whether the free Amazon-owned tool or the paid veteran will cost you less hassle.

What are Veeqo and ShipStation?
Veeqo is shipping and inventory software for sellers on several channels. It was founded in the UK in 2013 and bought by Amazon in 2021. You connect your stores, it pulls in orders, you buy labels, and on paid plans it keeps stock counts in sync across channels. ShipStation is a shipping platform that pulls in orders from your stores and marketplaces, prints labels, and applies rules to route and pack them. Both do the same core job: turn orders from many places into labels fast.
How do Veeqo and ShipStation pricing compare?
As of November 2026, the pricing models are very different.
| Veeqo | ShipStation | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Shipping plan: free, unlimited orders, users, products and warehouses | Starter: $14.99 a month for 50 shipments |
| Middle plan | Inventory plan: from $19 a month, priced by order volume | Standard: $29.99 a month for 50 shipments |
| Top plan | High Volume: from $350 a month, priced by order volume | Premium: $349.99 a month for 50 shipments |
| Free trial | Inventory and High Volume plans have a free trial | 30 days, no credit card |
| How you are charged | Order volume; Amazon FBA orders are not counted | Shipment volume tier within each plan |
Veeqo says it makes a small commission on labels bought through it, which is how the shipping plan stays free. You also earn up to 5% back in Veeqo Credits on labels. Its pricing page lists unlimited shipments, bulk shipping of up to 100 orders in one click, and labels protected against lost or delayed parcels (OTDR, on-time delivery and claims cover) as standard on the free plan. One limit to know: multichannel listings are marked as coming soon on the free plan, with 10 free listings a month, while the Inventory plan lists unlimited listings. ShipStation's prices above are for the 50-shipment tier; the price goes up as you pick higher monthly shipment tiers, so pick your real volume on its pricing page. ShipStation also says extra users and some add-ons cost more, and postage is always on top. ShipStation's help centre says every plan includes access to 200 or more carriers, carrier discounts of up to 90%, tracking notifications, address validation and automated rate comparison (not yet in the UK), and that the plans on that page apply to the US, Canada, Australia and the UK, with separate regional pages for other countries.
How do they connect to Amazon and other channels?
Veeqo connects to the marketplaces Amazon, eBay, Walmart, TikTok Shop and Etsy, and to store platforms Shopify and WooCommerce (a store plugin for WordPress), and lists 240 or more integrations in all. A big point in its favour is that FBA orders (Fulfilled by Amazon, where Amazon ships for you) can be imported without raising your bill. Its carriers include UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL Express, OnTrac and Amazon Shipping, with pre-negotiated rates you can use or you can bring your own accounts.
ShipStation says it supports a wide list of marketplaces and shopping carts and does not charge extra to connect more channels, except for a few it calls Premium Integrations. Check its integrations page for your exact stack before you commit, since that list is long and changes.
How do the stock features compare?
Veeqo's Inventory plan adds stock sync across channels, demand forecasting, digital picking with a scanner, picking path tips and unlimited multichannel listings. It also has a free Profit Analyzer on every plan. Veeqo also advertises an AI helper for warehouse tasks and a link to Claude and ChatGPT. ShipStation lists inventory management, warehouse tools, returns and exchanges, order splitting and combining, and parcel plus LTL freight (less-than-truckload shipping, for pallets) in one place. If you ship pallets or need a bill of lading, that freight feature is something Veeqo's pricing page does not mention.
For a plain look at what stock sync should do, see my guides on multichannel inventory management software and the inventory management system.
What about support?
ShipStation lists support by plan: chatbot on the free plan, email and chat on Starter, email, chat and phone on Standard, and a dedicated account manager on Premium. Veeqo's free shipping plan is aimed at self-serve use; its High Volume plan adds priority support, an account manager and API consulting. For reviews, read recent ones on the Shopify and Amazon app stores and Capterra. ShipStation's own page lists 4.6 on Capterra from 897 reviews and 4.3 on G2 from 531. Those are vendor-quoted numbers, so check the sites yourself.
Veeqo vs Pirate Ship
Pirate Ship is a free label tool for UPS and USPS with no monthly fees, markup or payment fees, according to its site. It is a good fit if you only need cheap labels from those two carriers. If you need stock sync, many channels or batch rules, you will outgrow it. Veeqo's free shipping plan adds more carriers and channels and also costs nothing monthly.
A worked example
Take a made-up brand selling candles on Shopify, Etsy and Amazon: 600 non-FBA orders a month. On Veeqo's shipping plan the software is free, and labels are bought at its discounted carrier rates. If the brand later wants stock sync, it moves to the Inventory plan, priced by that 600-order volume, from $19 a month up. On ShipStation, I would price the right shipment tier for 600 a month on the Standard plan, because the Starter plan is the lighter one and I would want rules and phone support. The gap is smaller than it looks, because label cost, not software, is the big number at that size. A $0.40 saving on each label across 600 orders is $240 a month. So compare real label rates on your own parcels first.
Which should you pick?
- Pick Veeqo if: Amazon is a main channel, you want to start at no monthly cost, and stock sync across channels is your next problem.
- Pick ShipStation if: you want phone support, freight shipping, add-ons for dropshipping or 3PL, or lots of channel and automation options.
- Look wider if: neither fits. My ShipStation alternatives guide covers other shipping tools.
Need something completely custom?
Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes none of these fit, and what you need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. How I'd approach this
I would run last month's real orders through both. Take 20 parcels, price them on each tool's carrier rates, and see the label cost difference. Then ask which tool your team can run without you. A free tool that your packer cannot use well costs more than a paid one. Once you have chosen, write down how an order moves from click to label, so you can see what is still manual. My guide to business process automation shows how to hand the repeat steps to software.
