Follow Up Boss alternatives for agents, teams and brokers

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 6 min read

Short answer: The main Follow Up Boss alternatives are BoldTrail (formerly kvCORE), Lofty, Sierra Interactive, Real Geeks and Wise Agent. Wise Agent is the low-cost pick for a solo agent. BoldTrail, Lofty, Sierra Interactive and Real Geeks bundle an IDX website and lead tools with the CRM. Follow Up Boss stays a strong choice if you want a CRM with clear per-user pricing that connects to many lead sources.

You're a real estate agent or team lead comparing Follow Up Boss against the all-in-one platforms, and want the real cost and feature differences.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

Why do people look for a Follow Up Boss alternative?

Most reasons come down to cost and to what the plans include. Here is what the pricing page shows.

  • Grow is priced per user: Grow costs $69 a user a month on monthly billing, or $58 on yearly billing. Calling is an add-on on Grow, at $39 a user a month, or $33 yearly.
  • Team plans jump in price: Pro costs $499 a month with 10 users, or $416 a month yearly. Extra users cost $49 a month, or $41 yearly. Platform costs $1,000 a month with 30 users, or $833 a month yearly.
  • More AI sits on Pro: Pro adds smart summaries, smart messages, suggested tasks and lead ranking. Pro also includes unlimited calling and texting.
  • It focuses on the CRM: The plans list lead routing, calling, texting, email and follow-up automation. IDX websites show up as an integration, so the site comes from another vendor. The pricing page does not list paid lead programs. Some teams want all of this from one vendor on one bill.

To be fair, Follow Up Boss has no contracts or setup fees, and every plan has phone and email support 7 days a week. Its page lists more than 250 integrations and a 14-day free trial.

What are the best Follow Up Boss alternatives?

These tools are popular with agents and teams. Each price is from the vendor's own pricing page.

Blur Studio (best value)

A ready-built, well-tested core with a different pricing model: no per-seat fees, and it covers almost all the features you'd actually need, usually working out to the best value for money. On top of that, Blur Studio builds owned customizations, meaning you can ask for it to be modified to your exact specifications, and you own those modifications outright. • Best for: Businesses that need software that works without barriers, no unnecessary fees and options to customize it to their needs.

BoldTrail (formerly kvCORE)

BoldTrail comes from Inside Real Estate, the company behind kvCORE. Its own blog says BoldTrail is the next generation of kvCORE, and that kvCORE is being phased out in favor of BoldTrail. BoldTrail combines IDX websites, a CRM, done-for-you lead generation and back office tools. It does not list prices. Its page asks you to watch a demo to get pricing, and its blog says the price depends on team size and modules.

  • Best for: Brokerages that want one platform for agents, leads and back office work.

Lofty

Lofty also asks for a quote. Its price depends on the package, the number of seats, upgrades and lead programs. Every plan includes an IDX website, an AI CRM, Smart Plans for automated follow-up, texting and a mobile app. Paid seller lead programs carry a 20% ad management fee.

  • Best for: Teams that want a website, CRM and paid leads from one company.

Sierra Interactive

Sierra Interactive lists its prices, and each plan is a 12-month agreement. Starter costs $299.95 a month if you prepay the year, or $359.95 on monthly billing, with one user. Essential costs $399.95 a month prepaid with three users. Growth costs $599.95 a month prepaid with five users. Monthly billing adds a $500 setup fee.

  • Best for: Teams that want a strong IDX website and are ready for a yearly commitment.

Real Geeks

Real Geeks costs $399 a month with two users, plus a one-time $500 setup fee. Users 3 to 10 cost $25 a month each. It sells lead packages on top. A social lead package costs $299 a month, and search or seller lead packages cost $599 a month. It lists a lead guarantee, with a credit if the minimum is not met.

  • Best for: Agents who want to buy leads and get a site and CRM with them.

Wise Agent

Wise Agent is the lowest listed price here. The CRM plan costs $49 a month, or $499 a year. That works out to about $42 a month. Its plan covers up to 5 team members sharing one login. It includes drip campaigns, transaction management, landing pages and 24/7 live support, and you can try it free for 14 days.

  • Best for: Solo agents and small teams who want a simple CRM with transaction tools.

Follow Up Boss vs kvCORE: which should you pick?

kvCORE now runs as BoldTrail, so this is really Follow Up Boss vs BoldTrail. The two tools take different paths.

Follow Up Boss is a CRM first. It shows its prices, it has no contract, and its page says it imports leads from more than 200 sources. BoldTrail is an all-in-one platform. It bundles the website, CRM, lead generation and back office, and it prices each brokerage by quote.

  • Choose Follow Up Boss if: You already have a website and lead sources, and you want fast follow-up with a price you can see today.
  • Choose BoldTrail if: You run a brokerage and want agents on one platform for websites, leads and back office work.

Ask each vendor for a demo with your own lead flow. Bring a real week of leads and check how each tool routes them.

How do you pick a real estate CRM alternative?

Work out where your leads come from before you look at features. Then test each tool with that flow.

  • Count your seats: Price the team you will have next year, including admins and assistants.
  • Decide on the website: If you need a new IDX site, an all-in-one tool may cost less than two tools.
  • Check texting and calling: Look at how many texts and minutes each plan includes, and what extras cost.
  • Look at lead fees: Paid lead programs often add ad fees on top of the plan.
  • Plan the move: Ask how the vendor imports your contacts, notes and action plans.

When does a custom real estate CRM make sense?

Most agents and teams should buy one of the tools above. Real estate CRMs are mature, and their links to lead sources would cost a lot to rebuild.

A custom build fits in a few cases.

  • Your routing rules are unusual: You split leads by zip code, language, price band and agent capacity at once.
  • You run more than real estate: You also run a mortgage, title or property management arm that needs the same client record.
  • Seat costs keep growing: You have dozens of agents, and the yearly bill is close to what a tool you own would cost.
  • You want your own AI: You want an AI helper that answers leads from your listings and books showings on your calendar.

A middle path often works. Keep your CRM, and add a custom piece for the gap. An AI lead qualification tool can ask new leads a few questions and pass the warm ones to an agent.

How does Blur Studio approach real estate tools?

I start with your lead flow. Where do leads come from? Who gets each one, and how fast? What does the team still track in a spreadsheet? If Follow Up Boss or one of these tools covers it, I tell you which one and stop there. If there is a real gap, I build that part and link it to the tools you already pay for. Your business owns what I build. For the wider question, see my guide on build vs buy software.

Need something completely custom?

Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes the honest answer is that none of those quite fit, and what you actually need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. Questions people ask

How much does Follow Up Boss cost?

As of October 2026, Follow Up Boss Grow costs $69 a user a month on monthly billing, or $58 on yearly billing. Pro is $499 a month with 10 users included, and Platform is $1,000 a month with 30 users.

Is kvCORE the same as BoldTrail?

BoldTrail is the newer platform from Inside Real Estate, the company that made kvCORE. BoldTrail's own blog says kvCORE is being phased out in favor of BoldTrail.

What is the cheapest Follow Up Boss alternative?

Wise Agent has the lowest listed price of the tools here, as of October 2026. Its CRM plan is $49 a month, or $499 if you pay for the year.

Which real estate CRM comes with a website?

BoldTrail, Lofty, Sierra Interactive and Real Geeks all list a website in their plans, as of October 2026. Follow Up Boss focuses on the CRM, connects to IDX websites from other vendors and imports leads from more than 200 sources.

Can I move my data out of Follow Up Boss?

Most CRMs can import contacts and notes from another CRM. Ask the new vendor what they move for you, such as action plans, tags and call logs. Run a test import before you cancel.

Why do BoldTrail and Lofty not list their prices?

Both price by quote because their cost depends on team size, which modules you add, and whether you take their paid lead generation programs. Ask for a price broken out by component, website, CRM, leads, back office, so you can compare it fairly against a tool like Follow Up Boss that prices openly.

Does a real estate CRM include the cost of buying leads?

No, in almost every case the CRM and software fee is separate from any paid lead program you run through Zillow, BoldTrail, Lofty or another source. Keep the two costs separate when you budget, since lead costs are usually the larger number.

Roughly what does this cost?

As a broad reference, fixes and finishes start at around $1,500, and new builds start higher, always a fixed price agreed in writing before I start, never an hourly rate. My AI app cost guide explains what actually drives a quote up or down.

Is my project too small for this?

No. Most of the owners I work with have no tech team at all, that is the whole point. If the smarter move is a cheap software subscription instead of custom software, I will tell you that on the first call, even though it means I do not get paid.
