What can replace Inventory Planner now it is part of Sage?
Short answer: Inventory Planner is a demand forecasting and replenishment tool for online and multi-store sellers. It is now owned by Sage, so check Inventory Planner's own site for its current price for your size. Alternatives with prices on their pages include Prediko (a Shopify inventory app) from $49 a month, Sumtracker (a multichannel inventory sync and forecasting tool) from $119 a month with forecasting, Finale from $499 a month and Cin7 Core from $349 a month, all as of November 2026.
Inventory Planner is now owned by Sage, you want to compare prices, and you want to know what else is out there.
I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.
Why do people look for an Inventory Planner alternative?
Inventory Planner has been a popular forecasting tool for Shopify and multi-store sellers. Its ownership changed in steps. Brightpearl, a retail operations system, bought it, and then Sage, the accounting and business software group, bought Brightpearl. Inventory Planner's own help centre says both are now owned by Sage.
The reasons people compare it with other tools are plain.
- Price you cannot compare at a glance. Inventory Planner's pricing page shows no figure. It says pricing is based on the volume of inventory you manage, with unlimited users, and you request a quote before you can compare it with tools that list prices.
- A bigger-company feel. A tool run as a division of a large software group can suit a larger brand. A small seller may want to be live in a day, so ask how long setup takes.
- Owner change worries. After an acquisition people ask what will happen to the roadmap and the price. That is normal. It is a reason to compare, not a sign anything is wrong.
- You may not need all of it. If you only need to know what to reorder, a lighter tool can do that.
Inventory Planner is a specialist forecasting product with a long track record. If you are a larger multi-store brand, it may still be the right fit, so check its site for current features and limits.

Blur Studio (best value)
A ready-built, well-tested core with a different pricing model: no per-seat fees, and it covers almost all the features you'd actually need, usually working out to the best value for money. On top of that, Blur Studio builds owned customizations, meaning you can ask for it to be modified to your exact specifications, and you own those modifications outright. - Best for: Businesses that need software that works without barriers, no unnecessary fees and options to customize it to their needs.
Prediko
Prediko is a Shopify inventory app that does demand planning, purchase orders and reports. It starts at $49 a month for stores with under $100,000 in sales over the last 12 months and rises with sales. Every plan includes unlimited users, products and purchase orders, forecasting and buying alerts, with a 14-day free trial. Raw materials and bills of materials (the list of parts that make a product) are a separate add-on, from $20 a month. It also publishes a page comparing itself with Inventory Planner.
- Best for: A Shopify store that wants a lower entry price and quick setup.
Sumtracker
Sumtracker is an inventory sync tool with forecasting. Manage, from $59 a month, keeps stock in step across channels. Replenish, from $119 a month ($100 on annual billing) for up to 2,500 orders a year, adds purchase orders, stock transfers, 12-month forecasting and reorder suggestions. It connects Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, eBay and Walmart, with up to 10 channels and 10 warehouses.
- Best for: A small seller on Shopify plus a marketplace or two.
Finale
Finale, from Descartes, is an inventory system for ecommerce and wholesale sellers. It includes multi-warehouse management, purchase orders, min-max reordering and sales velocity forecasting. Essentials starts at $499 a month and Growth at $799. It lists 40+ sales channel integrations and a 2 to 6 week go-live.
- Best for: A seller who wants one system for stock, purchasing and reports.
Cin7 Core
Cin7 Core is an inventory and order management system. Standard is $349 a month for 5 users, 2 ecommerce integrations and 6,000 orders a year. Pro is $599 and Advanced is $1,199. Its AI forecasting, ForesightAI, is an add-on priced separately, so ask for the total. If you are also weighing Brightpearl, the retail operations system that sits in the same Sage family as Inventory Planner, our Brightpearl alternatives guide covers that side.
- Best for: Sellers who combine wholesale and online sales.
What to check before you switch
- Which channels each tool reads. A forecast is only right if every sale reaches it.
- The price at your real order volume. Pricing models differ, so work out your cost at your own numbers, not the entry price.
- What the forecast costs. At Cin7 it is an add-on. At Sumtracker it needs the higher plan.
- How you will export your data. Ask what you can take with you if you leave.
- Whether you need the full system. The inventory management system guide covers the choice between a forecasting add-on and a complete system.

Need something completely custom?
Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes none of these fit, and what you need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. How I'd approach this
Do not leave Inventory Planner only because the owner changed. Leave if the price, the setup or the fit is wrong for you. Get the Inventory Planner price for your size anyway, so you have a number to compare.
Then try one lighter tool on a free trial with your real sales. Prediko and Sumtracker both offer 14 days. If it gives you the same reorder list in a week with less cost, you have your answer.
If your rules are odd, or you just want an alert that says "order 155 candles today", that is a small custom build. You own it, it reads the channels you use, and there is no seat fee.
Questions people ask
Who owns Inventory Planner now?
Sage. Brightpearl acquired Inventory Planner, and Sage then acquired Brightpearl, according to Inventory Planner's own help centre. The product is now sold as Inventory Planner by Sage. Compare it with Brightpearl alternatives if you use both.
How much does Inventory Planner cost?
Inventory Planner shows no price on its pricing page. It says pricing is based on the volume of inventory you manage, with unlimited users, so request a quote and compare it with the listed prices above.
Is there a cheaper Inventory Planner alternative for Shopify?
Prediko starts at $49 a month for stores with under $100,000 in sales over the last 12 months, as of November 2026. Sumtracker's forecasting plan starts at $119 a month. Both offer a 14-day free trial. Check each pricing page for your size.
Do these tools work with Amazon and Etsy?
Sumtracker connects Shopify, Amazon FBA and FBM, Etsy, eBay and Walmart. Finale lists 40+ sales channel integrations including Shopify, Amazon and Walmart. For any tool, ask the vendor to confirm each of your channels before you pay.
When is a custom reorder alert better than a tool?
When your needs are narrow: a few hundred products, your own supplier rules, or a stock system you already like. A custom alert reads your sales and tells you what to order, with no monthly seat fees. See the forecasting software guide for the cases where a tool wins.
