Jobber reporting: what each report shows, which plan unlocks what, and how to get the numbers it leaves out

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 8 min read

Short answer: Jobber has 20+ built-in reports covering invoices and payments, tax, projected income, client balances, visits, jobs, quotes, requests, products and services, and timesheets. You find them on the web under Insights, then Reports. Job costing and profit per job start on the Grow plan; custom reports and job profit alerts are on Plus. What Jobber does not give you is profit by job type, crew or month on one screen, or anything joined with your accounting, and for that a dashboard built on Jobber's API is usually the cheapest fix.

You need numbers out of Jobber that its reports either hide, split across five exports, or don't produce at all.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

Jobber's reports are good at the daily questions of a service business: who owes you money, what is booked this week, which quotes are still open. They get thin when you ask the questions that decide whether the business is healthy: which kind of job actually makes money, which crew earns its cost, and how much work is already on the books for next month.

This page covers what each report shows, which plan unlocks what, how to customize, export and schedule them, why a report might not show up, and what to do about the gaps. Everything is checked against Jobber's own help center and pricing page as of 27 October 2026.

Where do I find reports in Jobber?

Sign in on the Jobber website, because the phone app does not carry the reports. Then choose Insights, then Reports, in the side menu.

Admins see reports automatically. Anyone else needs the Reports permission, and even then only sees reports for features they can use: if someone has no access to quotes, the quote reports do not appear for them.

Which reports does Jobber have?

Jobber's help center groups them like this:

GroupReportsWhat owners use it for
FinancialInvoice and payment, Taxation, Projected income, Client balance summaryWhat you billed and collected, sales tax owed, cash due soon, who owes you
WorkVisits, One-off jobs, Recurring jobs, Requests, Checklists, Quotes, Products and services, GPS waypoint tracking, TimesheetsWhat got done, quote follow-up and win rate, best-selling services, hours worked
ClientClient communications, Client re-engagementMessages sent, and past clients worth contacting again

Jobber's reporting page also highlights transaction, projected income, invoice and aged receivables views, and an expense view of costs logged in the field, which feeds payroll and job costing.

Is there a Jobber sales report?

Not by that name. Owners searching for one usually mean one of three reports. The Invoice and payment report shows what you billed and collected. The Quotes report shows what you offered and what you won. The Products and services report shows which items you sell most. Together they answer most "sales" questions, but not on one page.

Which Jobber plan unlocks which reports?

Every plan includes built-in reporting. The deeper features are gated by plan:

FeaturePlanStanding price (annual prepaid, per month)
Built-in reports, CSV exportCore and upFrom $29 (1 user)
Time and expense tracking (feeds labor and cost data)Connect and upFrom $99 (1 user)
Job costing, profit bar, cost and profit columnsGrow and upFrom $149 (1 user), $229 (5 users)
Custom reports, job profit alerts, automated expense capturePlusFrom $399 (5 users)

Month to month with no commitment, Grow starts at $199 and Plus at $499. My Jobber pricing guide lays out every team size and billing option, including how Jobber's periodic new-customer promos work.

What can I change in a report?

  • Date range and filters: the Options box at the top of each report sets the dates and filters, including a Custom Range on reports that support it. Not every report does.
  • Columns: the Columns button adds or removes columns. The choice differs by report.
  • Overview headings: in some reports, such as Projected income, clicking a heading like invoices due in 7 to 30 days filters the list.
  • Export: Email CSV sends a file to your sign-in email that opens in Excel or Google Sheets. The Taxation, Waypoints and Job Follow-ups reports cannot be exported. Franchise accounts using multi-account exports are limited to 90 days of data per request.

Can Jobber reporting be customized?

Partly. On every plan you choose columns, dates and filters. Beyond that:

  • Custom reports are a Plus feature. Jobber's reporting page describes a custom report builder powered by Jobber AI: you describe what you need and it builds a report from your live data, with visuals where useful. If you are not on Plus, you will not have it.
  • Custom fields help you label work, for example by job type. But labelling is not reporting: owners on Jobber's community forum describe adding a job-type field and still having no report that totals profit by it.

Can Jobber reporting be automated?

Exports can. Jobber built a free app called Report Scheduler, listed in its App Marketplace, that emails a report as a CSV attachment on a schedule.

  • How often: daily, weekly or monthly, at a time you choose. A weekly schedule covers one day, so reports on Monday and Thursday need two schedules.
  • Which reports: aged receivables, bad debt, client contact info, client properties, invoices, projected income, one-off jobs, visits and recurring jobs. Not every report can be scheduled.
  • Set up: Apps, then App Marketplace, then Report Scheduler, then Connect and allow access. Then set the report, the recipients and the schedule.
  • Warning: if you disconnect the app, Jobber deletes all your schedules.

What it sends is a raw table. It does not total anything, compare this week with last, or tell you in plain words what changed.

Does Jobber show profit per job?

On Grow and Plus, yes. Job costing adds up three kinds of cost: labor (each employee's hourly cost times their logged time), line item costs, and job expenses. A profit bar on each job shows the margin on completed jobs, and running costs on active ones. The One-off jobs report gets columns for expenses, time tracked, labor cost, line item cost, total cost and profit. On Plus, job profit alerts flag any one-off job that falls below a margin you set.

Jobber's help center lists the limits, and they matter:

  • Recurring jobs are not in job cost reporting. They do get a profit bar, but it only covers the last 30 days. For a lawn care, cleaning or pest control business that runs mostly on recurring work, this is the biggest gap in the whole reporting setup.
  • Labor cost changes only apply to new timesheets. Raise a technician's rate and older jobs keep the old cost.
  • Costs can be counted twice. Enter the same cost as a line item and as an expense, and the margin looks worse than it is.
  • Older jobs may be missing costs. Jobs created before May 4, 2023 do not pick up line item costs from quotes or your products list.
  • Profit alerts cover one-off jobs only.
  • Permissions are layered. Non-admins need Show Pricing, timesheet access, expense permissions and job view access before they can see job costing.

What do owners say is missing?

A long-running thread on Jobber's own community forum, asking owners which reports they use and wish for, keeps landing on the same requests:

  • Profit by job type. One owner says plainly that the reports are lacking and wishes Jobber would add job types.
  • Work already on the books. Owners want a running total of booked work for future weeks and months, and some build it themselves.
  • Phase tracking. The Visits report does not pull the title of each visit, so multi-phase jobs are tracked by hand.
  • Customer value against acquisition cost. One owner lays out a lifetime-value to acquisition-cost calculation that has to be done outside Jobber.

Crew and technician performance is the same story. The Timesheets and Visits reports hold the raw material, but a report ranking crews by revenue per hour is one you have to build.

Why is Jobber reporting not working or not showing up?

Check these in order. The first ones are the most common.

  1. Permission. You need to be an admin or have the Reports permission, and you only see reports for features you can access. A report that disappears suddenly often means a permission was changed.
  2. The phone app. Reports are on the web only.
  3. Your plan. A missing profit bar usually means a plan below Grow, or a missing job costing permission and the ones it depends on.
  4. Recurring work. If your profit report looks empty and most of your work is recurring, that is expected: recurring jobs are not in job cost reporting.
  5. Date range. Some reports do not allow a custom range. Use the ranges the report offers.
  6. Missing costs. Jobs created before May 4, 2023 may not show line item costs.
  7. Scheduled reports stopped. Check the Report Scheduler is still connected. Disconnecting deletes the schedules.
  8. Numbers look wrong. Look for costs entered twice and labor rates changed after timesheets were logged.

If none of those explain it, contact Jobber support with the report name and the date range you used.

How do I get reports Jobber does not have?

There are four routes. Start at the top and stop when the problem is solved.

  1. Upgrade the plan. If the only gap is job costing, Grow solves it. If it is custom reports or profit alerts, Plus does. For a five-person crew, moving from Connect to Grow is $80 a month on annual billing ($149 to $229), often cheaper than any other fix.
  2. Export and build a spreadsheet. Email the CSVs and join them in Google Sheets or Excel. Fine for a monthly review. It breaks down when you need it weekly, because someone has to redo it by hand. See a Jobber reporting template for the columns worth keeping.
  3. Use a business intelligence tool. Power BI or Looker Studio can read your exports or a data feed and chart them, but someone still has to set up and maintain the feed.
  4. Build a dashboard on Jobber's API. Jobber's GraphQL API covers clients, jobs, visits, quotes, invoices, expenses and timesheets. Each app on each account gets 2,500 requests per 5 minutes and a 10,000-point query budget, plenty for one business. One thing to confirm first: Jobber says private custom integrations are only possible for approved customers and developers, and they are blocked above 5 paying accounts. My Jobber API guide covers the details.

When does a dashboard on top of Jobber make sense?

When you ask the same question every week and the answer takes you an hour. The usual ones:

  • Profit by job type, including recurring work that job costing leaves out.
  • Revenue per technician hour, by crew.
  • Quote win rate by lead source.
  • Booked work for the next 4, 8 and 12 weeks.
  • Cash due this month, with the jobs behind it.

A dashboard reads from Jobber, shows the numbers you chose on one page, can join them with QuickBooks, payroll or ad spend, and can send you a short plain-English summary every Monday. Your team keeps using Jobber exactly as before. My KPI dashboard guide explains how to choose the numbers, and field service reporting software compares other routes.

How I'd approach this

I keep the Jobber account you already have. A good first step, before talking to me or anyone else, is to write down the three questions you wish Jobber could answer each week. That list tells us quickly whether the right fix is a plan change, a spreadsheet or a dashboard. If Grow or Plus answers them, I will say so and you will not need me.

If they need data Jobber does not join, I build the connection to your Jobber data, the dashboard and the weekly summary, usually with QuickBooks alongside so profit reflects real costs. It runs in accounts you own, so the code and the data stay yours. And if the reports are only one symptom of a bigger fit problem, read what to do when you outgrow Jobber first.

Questions people ask

Where are Jobber reports?

On the Jobber website, under Insights, then Reports in the side menu. They are not in the phone app. You need to be an admin or have the Reports permission.

Can I export Jobber reports to Excel?

Yes. Use Email CSV on a report and Jobber sends the file to your sign-in email, where it opens in Excel. The Taxation, Waypoints and Job Follow-ups reports cannot be exported.

Does Jobber send reports automatically?

Jobber's free Report Scheduler app emails CSV exports daily, weekly or monthly. It covers aged receivables, bad debt, client contact info, client properties, invoices, projected income, one-off jobs, visits and recurring jobs. Disconnecting the app deletes your schedules.

Which Jobber plan has job costing?

Grow and Plus. Grow starts at $149 a month for one user on annual prepaid billing ($199 month to month). Job profit alerts and custom reports are on Plus, which starts at $399 a month for five users on annual billing.

Why is my Jobber profit report empty?

The usual causes are a plan below Grow, a missing job costing permission, costs that were never entered, or work that is mostly recurring, since recurring jobs are not included in job cost reporting.

Can Jobber show profit by job type?

Not directly. You can tag work by type with custom fields, but no built-in report totals profit by that field. A Plus custom report may get close; otherwise a dashboard built on Jobber's API is the usual fix.

Can I connect Jobber to a dashboard tool?

Yes, through Jobber's GraphQL API or by exporting data on a schedule. The API has rate limits, so a developer should pull data in sensible chunks, and private integrations need Jobber's approval.
