How do I start and run a Noon seller account in the UAE?

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 6 min read

Short answer: Noon is an online marketplace used across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. To sell on it in the UAE you need a valid trade license that allows trading or e-commerce, an ID for the business representative (Emirates ID or passport) and a business bank account. You register in Seller Lab, Noon's seller dashboard, in three steps, then choose whether noon stores and ships your stock (FBN) or you ship from your own warehouse (FBP). Fees are a referral percentage by category, plus fulfillment and storage fees if you use FBN.

You run a brand in the UAE, you want to open a Noon seller account without wasting weeks on rejected documents, and you want to know what it will really cost and demand each day.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

What Noon is and who can sell on it

Noon is an online marketplace based in the Gulf. Its help site for sellers is the noon Seller Help Center, and the dashboard where you do the work is Seller Lab. You can register as a local seller (your company is registered in the country where you sell), an international seller (your company is registered elsewhere), or, in Egypt only, an individual seller. This guide covers a local seller in the UAE.

What you need before you start

Noon asks that every detail you enter matches your official documents exactly, so have these ready:

  • Trade license. It must be valid with at least 15 days left when you submit, and it must allow trading, selling or manufacturing. An e-commerce license is also accepted. A license limited to services is not.
  • VAT certificate, if you have one. If you are not VAT registered, you choose the Non-VAT option when you create your legal entity. If you are, you need the tax registration number and the issue and expiry dates.
  • ID for your business representative. An Emirates ID (front and back) or a passport. It must belong to the person named on the trade license. If it does not, upload a power of attorney.
  • Bank details. One of: a cancelled cheque, bank details on the bank's letterhead signed and stamped, or a bank statement. UAE sellers cannot submit personal bank accounts, and the name must match the legal name on the license. Bank details can be added later.

Each set of documents can be used for only one account. You cannot reuse the same license or bank account on a second seller account.

Registration, step by step

  1. Create an organization ID. Sign up with your email and confirm the one-time code, verify your phone number, and choose an organization name. This is not shown to customers. You receive a project ID.
  2. Create your store. Open Seller Lab, choose Start Selling, select the country (UAE, Saudi Arabia or Egypt), and give a store name in English and Arabic. The store name must not be an existing brand, a website or an email address.
  3. Create your legal entity. Upload the trade license PDF, fill in tax details, add the business representative and ID, and add a payment method (you can skip this for now). Then the representative signs the seller terms, which Noon sends by email.

Noon's team reviews the submission and emails the result. If it is rejected, the email gives a reason. You fix the issue in the Legal page and submit again. Once approved, you are a registered seller.

FBN or FBP: who stores and ships

This choice drives your costs and your daily work.

FBP is the model where you keep stock and pack the order, while noon helps with delivery logistics. Noon also has direct-delivery arrangements for some cases. Read the FBP overview in the help center before choosing.

What it costs

Fees depend on category and model, and they are listed without VAT. As of November 2026, Noon's UAE fee pages show these referral fees, taken as a percentage of the sale price:

  • Apparel and footwear: 27%
  • Bags other than luggage: 25%
  • Home categories such as bedding, kitchen and decor: 15%
  • Fragrance: 14%
  • Colour cosmetics and skin care: 8% up to AED 50, 15% above
  • Mobile phones: 6% up to AED 500, 5% above
  • Food and beverages: 9%

There is a minimum referral fee of AED 1 per item, and some brands and product types have exceptions in a separate sheet. FBN adds an outbound fee per unit based on weight and price. For a standard parcel over 0.25 kg and up to 0.5 kg, it is AED 7.5 for items priced up to AED 25 and AED 9.5 above. FBN storage costs AED 1.75 per cubic foot per month from 1 October 2026, and stock older than 365 days costs AED 25 per cubic foot. Other charges include return handling and penalties for items that do not match the listing. Check the FBN and FBP fee pages for your category before you price.

A worked example (made-up figures)

A brand sells a cotton shirt on Noon for AED 100, weighs 0.4 kg and uses FBN.

  • Referral fee, 27%: AED 27
  • FBN outbound fee: AED 9.5
  • Total fees before storage and VAT: AED 36.5
  • Left to cover the product cost, packaging, ads and returns: AED 63.5

If the shirt costs AED 45 to make and bring in, the margin is AED 18.5 before returns, ads and storage. That is thin. At AED 100 a small price rise matters a lot, which is why I run the numbers for each product before a listing goes live. The same method works in my Amazon seller profit and loss guide, because the marketplaces behave alike.

Running it day to day

Seller Lab is where the daily work lives.

  • Listings. Add products one by one or in bulk with the New Item Set-up Sheet. Fill in English and Arabic content to be easier to find. Listings are reviewed and go live within about three business days. Health and beauty products need proof of purchase or an authorization letter.
  • Prices and promotions. Edit one product or import a price sheet. Changes show within 24 hours, and price changes above 30% can be held for review.
  • Stock. For FBP, update the quantity and processing time per warehouse. If an item is out of stock when an order arrives, you reject the order. A cancelled order cannot be reversed and can bring penalties, so stock accuracy is the habit that protects your account.
  • Orders and returns. Pack, hand over and track returns in Seller Lab or the order app.

Running Noon next to Amazon.ae and your own store

Amazon.ae is Amazon's UAE store. Each added channel adds one risk: two places selling the same unit. Decide first which system owns the stock count. A spreadsheet works to about a few hundred products. Past that, connect your stock system to Noon with its API, which I describe in the Noon API and integration guide. For choosing a tool across channels, see multichannel selling software compared, and for stock rules see the inventory management system guide. The same logic holds if you are comparing inventory software in Dubai: one count, one owner.

Common mistakes

  • Trade license activity that lists services only.
  • Bank account in a personal name, or a name that differs from the license.
  • An ID that does not belong to the license holder, with no power of attorney.
  • Pricing from the category percentage alone and forgetting outbound, storage and returns.
  • Letting stock counts drift between channels.

How I'd approach this

I would register first with FBP and a small range of your best-selling products, because it costs less to learn the dashboard than to ship stock into a warehouse. I would price each product using the full fee table, then move proven sellers to FBN once I knew the numbers worked. I would write down one rule for who owns the stock count before adding any new channel. And if Noon becomes a real part of your sales, I would connect it to your stock system rather than keep retyping numbers every morning.

Questions people ask

What documents do I need for a Noon seller account in the UAE?

A valid trade license (with at least 15 days left) that allows trading, selling or manufacturing, an Emirates ID or passport for the business representative, and bank details in the company name. A VAT certificate is needed only if you are VAT registered.

How much does a Noon seller account cost?

Noon's fee pages list referral fees by category, for example 27% for apparel and 15% for home categories as of November 2026, with a minimum of AED 1 per item. FBN adds outbound and storage fees. See the FBN and FBP fee pages in Noon's help center for your category.

What is Seller Lab?

Seller Lab is Noon's web dashboard for sellers. You use it to register, add products, set prices and stock, handle orders and returns, and download reports.

Should I choose FBN or FBP?

FBN suits sellers who want noon to store, pack and ship. FBP suits sellers who already have stock and a packing routine. Many start with FBP and move fast-selling items to FBN. See Amazon FBA inventory management for the same trade-off on Amazon.

Can I sell on Noon and my Shopify store at the same time?

Yes, but you need one stock count shared by both. Start with spreadsheets, then connect through Noon's Partner API. The Noon API guide explains how.

Why was my legal entity rejected?

Usual causes are a license that does not allow trading, a bank name that differs from the license name, or an ID that does not match the license holder without a power of attorney. Noon emails a reason. Fix it in the Legal page and submit again.
