Should your cleaning company use ZenMaid or Jobber?

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 5 min read

Short answer: Pick ZenMaid, scheduling software built for maid services, if you run recurring home cleans with a team of cleaners. Its plans are $19, $39 and $49 a month as of November 2026, before its team-size calculator. Pick Jobber, a general field service tool for quotes, scheduling, invoices and payments, if you also do commercial or one-off work and want quotes and a client reminder system. Launch27 is a third option made only for cleaning booking.

You run a cleaning company and want to know whether a tool made for maids beats a general one like Jobber for scheduling, payroll and reports.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

What are these tools?

  • ZenMaid: scheduling and booking software built for maid services. It handles calendars, cleaner mobile apps, online payments and booking forms.
  • Jobber: a general field service tool used by cleaners, landscapers and trades. It handles online booking, quotes, scheduling, invoices and payments.
  • Launch27: booking and management software made for cleaning companies, with unlimited users on every plan.
  • Housecall Pro: another general field service tool, with a cleaning edition and plans that bundle in more users.

What do they cost?

Prices below come from each vendor's pricing page as of November 2026, in USD.

Launch27 Plus$299 a monthAdds cleaner mobile app and automatic card charging

ZenMaid's page has a calculator where you enter the number of cleaners and office managers. SMS charges are not included in its prices, so use the calculator to see your real bill. Launch27 gives 15% off yearly billing, which its page shows as $765 a year for Base (against $900 paid monthly) and $1,530 for Pro (against $1,800).

Two details on the ZenMaid page change the real cost of the cheapest plan. Starter's mobile app comes without cleaner GPS tracking, and it carries limited automated text and email templates, so owners who want those need Pro. Online payments run through Stripe and Square on Starter, which means card fees from those processors come on top of the software price. Pro Max also lists a free 1:1 transfer of your contacts and calendar from your old tool, which matters if you are leaving a spreadsheet or another scheduler.

Scheduling

ZenMaid is built around the recurring clean. Its Pro plan includes a tool it calls Spotfinder to find the best spot for a new recurring customer. Calendar, dispatch and map views come on every plan. Digital checklists for each appointment start on Pro.

Jobber handles recurring jobs too, along with one-off visits, and its Connect plan adds automatic client reminders and job checklists. It is less specific to cleaning, so you set up your own job types and templates.

Launch27 is the strongest on the booking side. Its Base plan includes a booking form, customer and cleaner login portals, and a booking manager. Its Plus plan adds the cleaner mobile app.

Payroll and pay

Cleaners are often paid per job or by a split of revenue, which general tools handle badly. ZenMaid lists payroll on Pro. Launch27 lists a payroll manager with revenue split and commission reports on Base, and one with time-tracking reports on Pro.

Jobber tracks time and expenses on Connect, and its sync with QuickBooks Online, a popular accounting program, begins there, so most owners use Jobber to record the hours and run the actual payroll elsewhere. Housecall Pro lists a payroll product on its cleaning page, so check which plan includes it. Note that ZenMaid lists its own QuickBooks integration as "coming soon" on Pro, so if QuickBooks is central, ask what works today.

Reports

ZenMaid puts reports on Pro. Jobber includes built-in reporting on every plan. Launch27 has its Google Analytics and conversion-tracking tools on Pro. If you want profit per job, Jobber's Grow plan adds job costing, and my guide on Jobber reporting shows what the built-in reports cover. A cleaner's time on site against the price you quoted is the number that matters most, and you should be able to see it in any tool you pick.

Limits to know about

  • ZenMaid Starter stops at 40 appointments a month. A team with ten cleaners will pass that in a week. Plan on Pro.
  • Jobber is priced per user. A growing team of cleaners costs more each time you add someone, so check the team size selector on its page.
  • Launch27 has the highest starting price of the cleaning-only tools. At $75 a month, it costs nearly four times ZenMaid Starter.
  • Commercial cleaning needs quotes and contracts, which a maid-service scheduler is not designed for.

Pick this if, pick that if

  • Pick ZenMaid if your business is residential, recurring and run by a small office with several cleaners.
  • Pick Jobber if you do commercial or mixed work, send detailed quotes, or also do jobs like window or carpet cleaning.
  • Pick Launch27 if online booking is how most customers find you and you want the booking form to do the work.
  • Pick Housecall Pro if you have five or more staff and want users included in the plan. My Jobber vs Housecall Pro guide has the numbers.

If shift scheduling for staff is the real pain, a dedicated staff scheduling tool may fit better than either. And the broader field service management software guide compares the bigger platforms.

Need something completely custom?

Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes none of these fit, and what you need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. How I'd approach this

Count your appointments for a normal month and your cleaners. That one step often decides it: under 40 appointments, ZenMaid Starter works. Over that, compare Pro, Jobber Connect and Launch27 Base on your real headcount.

Both ZenMaid and Launch27 offer a free trial or a demo, and Jobber's page offers a free trial with no credit card. Load a real week of recurring clients into two tools, and have one cleaner use the app for the week. Cleaner feedback on the app is worth more than any feature list.

Last, decide how you will pay people before you buy. If the tool cannot show hours and jobs per cleaner in a way you trust, you will do payroll by hand every week, and that is the cost most owners forget to count.

Questions people ask

How much does ZenMaid cost?

Does ZenMaid have a free trial?

Yes. Its pricing page offers 14 days free, and says you can cancel any time from account settings.

Jobber, Launch27 and Housecall Pro are the ones I would test. Launch27 is cleaning-specific and starts at $75 a month. See my Jobber alternatives guide for more.
