How to cancel Higgsfield and what happens to your credits
Short answer: Higgsfield is a website where you pay a subscription for credits (points spent on each AI image or video). To cancel, go to your avatar, then Manage Account, Subscription, Plan Settings and Manage Subscription, and choose Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops future charges and keeps your plan until the paid period ends, but it refunds nothing. A refund is a separate request that Higgsfield's help center allows only on an initial purchase, within 7 days, with zero credits used, and a fee of up to 6% can apply. Subscription credits end with the period, so spend them and download your files first.
You are ready to stop paying for Higgsfield and you want to know which button to press, whether you will get money back, and what happens to the credits and videos you already have.
I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.
Almost every fact on this page comes from Higgsfield's own help center as of 4 November 2026. Outside sites that disagree are flagged, and reports from unhappy users are kept separate from facts. Screens change, so confirm the steps against what you see. For prices and plan choice, see Higgsfield pricing explained.
I link to Higgsfield from this site as an affiliate. Renewals are not refundable, and some users report billing problems. Cancelling may not be easy for everyone.

What cancelling does and does not do
- It stops the next charge.
- Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then the account moves to the free tier.
- It does not refund the current period. The help center states it directly: cancelling stops future charges but does not return funds for the current period.
- It does not delete your generations. Deleting the account is a different action, covered below.
Before you cancel: spend, download, check the date
- Find your renewal date. Cancel before it, not on the day. Set a reminder three days early so a slow screen or a missed email does not cost you another month.
- Use up subscription credits. The help center says subscription credits stay usable until the period ends and then expire for good. Unused ones are not refunded. If you still have work to make, make it now, on the plan you already paid for.
- Download what you need. Your files stay after cancelling, but your access follows the plan, and new generations will carry the free-account watermark. See Higgsfield downloads: watermarks, quality checks and backups for a checklist. If you claim the cost as an expense, get your invoices first: how to get a Higgsfield invoice or receipt.
- Check who owns the subscription. A team plan is cancelled by the workspace Owner, not by a member. See the team section below.
Step by step: cancel in Manage Account
The path in the help center is:
- Click your avatar.
- Choose Manage Account.
- Open Subscription, then Plan Settings.
- Choose Manage Subscription and click Show.
- Choose Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
The Terms of Use (section 10.3) also allow cancelling on the payment settings page or by emailing support from the subscriber's own account email address, and say requests from third parties are not accepted. Then do these three things, which are my habits and not Higgsfield instructions:
- Take a screenshot of the final confirmation screen and of any note about the date your plan ends.
- Keep the confirmation email, if one arrives.
- Check the next card or bank statement to confirm nothing was charged.
Some outside guides describe extra screens, such as a retention offer or a "remind me in a number of days" choice that, they say, keeps auto-renewal on. The official page does not mention either, and neither is confirmed, so read each screen and make sure the last one says the subscription is cancelled. If it does not, stop and email support.
What happens to subscription credits and credit packs
Subscription credits. The help center says they stay usable until the end of the paid period, then expire. The Terms of Use say subscription credits do not roll over from one billing cycle to the next.
Credit packs, auto-refill, promo and boost credits. Here the sources disagree, and I do not want to guess for you.
- The cancellation article in the help center says Credit Pack, Auto-Refill, promo and Boost credits remain available on the free plan for their validity period, for the models the free plan includes. Credit packs and auto-refill credits are valid for 90 days.
- Higgsfield's Terms of Use, section 9.4, say unused credits expire upon account cancellation. Section 9.6 says add-on credits are valid for 90 days from purchase. Read literally, that does not match the help center table.
Both pages are Higgsfield's own, and I cannot settle which one wins from public pages. The help center is the more specific and newer-looking text (dated August 2026, against Terms updated 23 October 2026), but I would not bet money on it. So: spend your credit packs before you cancel, and if you must leave packs unused, email support@higgsfield.ai and ask in writing what will happen to them. Keep the reply.
Higgsfield also publishes no credit pack prices on its pricing page or help center, so I do not state any.
What you keep after cancelling, and what to check before you leave over cost
If the reason is money, a few facts may change your mind, or at least your timing.
- Your files. Cancelling does not delete generations. The help center says inactive accounts may have older content moved to cold storage, and the Terms (section 3.4) say an account with no login, no generation and no active subscription for 30 days may be classed inactive, so do not use Higgsfield as your only archive.
- Your output rights. The Terms say your rights in exported outputs survive cancellation or account deletion. They also say outputs may not be unique across users. This is information, not legal advice.
- A free tier. After the paid period you drop to the free tier, which has no credits, a small set of models, one video job at a time and a watermark on every output.
- A cheaper plan instead of cancelling. The help center documents a downgrade: open the Pricing page, scroll past the main plan cards to the detailed comparison section and select Downgrade. It takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle, you keep your current plan and credits until then, and Credit Packs and promo credits are not affected. The Terms (section 10.5) say the same and warn that a downgrade may cost you content, features or capacity. The pricing page compare table showed Starter at $19 a month on 4 November 2026, labelled as billed annually, so check what a monthly Starter costs on the live page.
- Free and unlimited generations. Some plans include free generations or a window of unlimited use on some models. These can be worth using before you decide, but they come with plan conditions.
If you want to compare a smaller plan against cancelling, my guide to spending Higgsfield credits wisely shows how to work out the cost of one approved result. And the free versus paid article lists exactly what the free tier lacks.
Try Higgsfield with a discount
I use Higgsfield a lot and I love it, which is why I partnered with them to bring you a discount. Get started through this link and you can get up to 50% off for the first 3 hours after you log in. The size of the discount and the plans it covers can vary, so check the offer on screen.
Refunds: the 7-day rule, zero credits, the 6% fee
The help center's refund page sets out the rule. In short:
- It applies to your initial purchase. Renewals are not refundable.
- You must ask within 7 days of the purchase, or longer where local law requires it.
- You must have used zero credits from that purchase.
- A service fee of up to 6% may be deducted.
- An approved refund goes back to the original payment method in about 5 to 10 business days, and the subscription is cancelled immediately and the account moves to free.
- Credit packs, auto-refill charges and credit-adding exclusive offers are refundable within 7 days if none of that purchase's credits were used.
One detail that few pages mention: the help center says free and unlimited generations do not count as credit use. So a new buyer who only tried models on the unlimited or free pool might still qualify. I would not rely on that without asking support first, in writing, before spending anything.
The refund page also lists two cases outside the 7-day rule. If Higgsfield significantly degrades a paid plan or shuts down a paid feature entirely, you can cancel and get back the unused part of what you paid. And if Higgsfield ends your account through no fault of yours, unused subscription fees and unused purchased credits, except promo credits, are refunded. Offers that give access or features, such as unlimited access or priority, are non-refundable once access is granted.
Cancelling is not asking for a refund. The help center has a separate article on why people do not receive a refund after cancelling: cancelling stops future charges, and a refund is a separate request. To ask, use the steps on the refund page and keep a copy of the request.
Annual plans: refund or switch to monthly
If you bought a yearly plan and regret it, the help center gives two choices inside the same standard conditions (within 7 days, no credits used). You can take a full refund, with the subscription ending immediately, or switch to monthly billing with the 11 unused months refunded and keep your access and credits. The fee of up to 6% applies to either. Confirm with support before you decide.
After the 7 days, the help center is blunt: there are no prorated refunds for unused annual time, and the plan stays active to the end of the paid year, unless local law says otherwise. Your options then are to keep using it, turn off auto-renewal so no further charge follows, or choose a lower tier, which takes effect at the next billing date (the end of the paid year).
EU and UK: the 14-day right
The help center says consumers in the EEA (the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and the UK have a 14-day right of withdrawal after a purchase. It ends early once you start using the digital content, such as spending credits or generating, and if you withdraw after access began you pay for the part already provided. To withdraw, email support@higgsfield.ai. Approved reimbursements go to the same payment method within 14 days. Section 17.2 of the Terms says the same in similar words. If you think your local law gives you more, check the consumer authority in your country. This is information, not legal advice.
Team, Scale and Enterprise: the Owner cancels
A Team, Scale or Enterprise subscription is cancelled by the workspace Owner from Organization settings. The cancel article points to the business-plan help article for the exact path and what happens next, so check that article before you rely on a step. A member without Owner rights cannot cancel. Credits in a shared workspace are pooled across seats, so move work out of the workspace before the term ends. See sharing an AI account across a team for who should hold the Owner role.
Cancel is not delete
Deleting your account is a separate action. The help center says it is self-service, with a 30-day recovery window, and then it is permanent. Credits are lost, and billing records stay with the payment processor. The page advises downloading anything you want to keep first. Do not delete an account just to stop billing: cancel the plan, confirm it, download your files, and only then think about deleting. If you cannot log in to do either, the help center says to email support@higgsfield.ai from any address.
If you were charged after cancelling
Hack'celeration, an agency that publishes tool reviews, reports that close to one in five Trustpilot reviews of Higgsfield are one-star, mostly about denied refunds, surprise renewals or charges right after cancelling, with a 4.0 average across more than 5,000 reviews. An outside article (MindStudio) repeats unnamed reports of the same kind. Treat these as allegations, because they are opinions that cannot be checked. If it happens to you, do this.
- Gather your screenshots, confirmation email and statement.
- Email support@higgsfield.ai with the date you cancelled, the charge date and amount, and the account email.
- If a reply does not fix it, ask your card issuer about a dispute. Their time limits are strict, so do not wait.
Who should think twice about Higgsfield
If you want strictly month-to-month use with no balance that expires every cycle, a pay-as-you-go credit service may suit you better. Read that service's own pricing page before deciding. On Higgsfield, subscription credits do not roll over, so a quiet month costs the same as a busy one, and the 7-day refund window is short.
How I'd approach this
I would treat cancelling as a small checklist: spend, download, cancel, prove it, check the statement. For a new plan, I would use the first week to test the work you really need. If it does not pay for itself, ask for the refund inside 7 days, before spending credits. For teams, I would name the Owner on day one and keep client files in a folder you control, not only on the platform. If your agency wants a repeatable workflow and its own file library that does not depend on any one tool's account, that is the kind of thing Blur Studio builds at Blur Studio for business. And if you decide to start again, you can sign up through this Higgsfield link and check the current plans first.
Questions people ask
Does cancelling Higgsfield refund me?
No. The help center says cancelling stops future charges and does not return funds for the current period. A refund is a separate request with its own rules: initial purchase, within 7 days, zero credits used.
Do my credits carry over if I cancel?
Subscription credits stay usable until the end of the paid period and then expire. For credit packs and similar credits, the help center says they stay usable on the free plan for their 90 days, while Terms section 9.4 says unused credits expire on cancellation. They conflict, so spend packs first or ask support in writing.
Can I get a refund after the first week?
The help center rule is 7 days from the initial purchase, or longer where local law requires. Renewals are not refundable. EU and UK buyers have a 14-day withdrawal right, which ends early for spent credits. Email support@higgsfield.ai.
Does using free generations void the refund?
The help center says free and unlimited generations do not count as credit use. Even so, confirm with support in writing before you rely on it, and do not spend paid credits.
How do I cancel a team plan?
The workspace Owner cancels from Organization settings. Members cannot cancel it. The help center sends you to its business-plan article for the exact path, so check that page.
Will I keep my videos after cancelling?
Cancelling does not delete generations, and your rights in exported outputs survive it. But older content on inactive accounts may move to cold storage, and new generations follow free-account rules, including the watermark. Download what matters. See the downloads and backups page.
What if I was charged after cancelling?
Keep your screenshots and confirmation email, then email support@higgsfield.ai with the dates and amounts. If that fails, ask your card issuer about a dispute soon, because the time limits are short.
