Jobber vs ServiceTitan: is it time to move up?

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 8 min read

Short answer: Jobber suits small and mid-size service businesses and publishes its prices, from $49 a month month-to-month for one user up to $699 a month for 15 users on Plus. ServiceTitan is built for larger teams, with deeper dispatch, call booking, payroll and reporting, and sells by quote only, priced per technician. Move up when your crew count, branches or call volume need those tools. Stay on Jobber if what you miss is job costing and dashboards, since you can add those without a full switch.

You've built the business on Jobber, it's starting to creak in places, and you want to know whether ServiceTitan is the real fix or whether you're about to pay a lot to solve a smaller problem.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

Jobber and ServiceTitan both run home service businesses, but they are built for different sizes. Most owners who ask this question are not sure whether the pain they feel is a size problem, where the business has genuinely outgrown the tool, or a setup problem, where the tool would work fine with better settings and better numbers.

This page compares the two using each vendor's own pages as of October 2026, runs the cost for a real crew, and then covers the middle option: staying on Jobber and adding what you miss.

What is the real difference between Jobber and ServiceTitan?

Jobber is built for small and mid-size teams. Its plans are published, you can start a 14-day trial online without a card, and its largest listed tier, Plus, goes up to 15 users, with more users at $29 a month each. Franchise and multi-location businesses are pointed to Jobber's partnerships team for custom pricing.

ServiceTitan is built for larger operations. Its features page lists residential trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and pest control, commercial trades such as refrigeration and fire and life safety, and enterprise, franchise and private-equity-backed firms. Its pricing page shows three packages, Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a Request Pricing button and no price, and says pricing is per technician.

Put simply: Jobber is software you can pick up and run. ServiceTitan is an operating system for a larger trades business, and it expects to be set up like one.

ServiceTitan's seven Pro products are Marketing Pro, Contact Center Pro, Scheduling Pro, Dispatch Pro, Fleet Pro, Field Pro and Pricebook Pro, none with a published price. It also lists AI products such as Atlas, Titan Intelligence and the AI Virtual Agent. Jobber's Plus plan bundles Pipeline lead tracking, Marketing Suite, the AI Receptionist, crew scheduling, custom reports and dedicated onboarding.

What does each cost?

Jobber's pricing is on its site. On month-to-month billing, Core is $49 a month for one user, Connect starts at $139 for one user, Grow at $199 for one user, and Plus at $499 for five users, rising to $699 for 15. Extra users are $29 a month each. Annual billing costs less: Core is $29 a month on the standing annual rate, for example. Jobber is also showing a new-customer discount on annual plans that ends on 30 October 2026, so if you see a lower number than these, it is a promotion. Confirm the price you will pay after it ends.

ServiceTitan says its "per-technician pricing is designed to fit your business and goals, at any size." It publishes no rate, no onboarding cost and no contract terms. My ServiceTitan pricing guide lists the questions to ask.

A 10-person crew, side by side

On Jobber Plus month-to-month, 10 users cost $599 a month, or about $7,190 a year, with Marketing Suite, AI Receptionist and Pipeline included. On annual billing it is lower.

For ServiceTitan, third-party pricing trackers, not ServiceTitan, report estimates of roughly $245 to $500 per technician a month depending on the package (Projul and GetOneCrew both publish ranges like this and say they are not ServiceTitan's own figures). If those estimates are close, 10 technicians would cost about $2,450 to $5,000 a month, before any Pro products or onboarding. Use that range to prepare questions, never as your budget. Only a written quote counts.

Even on conservative assumptions, ServiceTitan costs several times what Jobber does for the same crew. It earns that back only if it changes how much revenue each call and each technician produces.

When should I move from Jobber to ServiceTitan?

Move when more than one of these is true:

  • Your team has outgrown the plans. You have well over 15 people in the system, several branches or more than one trade.
  • Your office books by phone all day. You need call booking with tracking tied to marketing source, and missed calls cost you real money.
  • Dispatch is the bottleneck. Dispatchers move techs by hand all day and need a proper board and live tracking.
  • You sell memberships and large installs. You want pricebook, financing and sales tools built into the field app.
  • Payroll is a weekly headache. Commissions and performance pay live in spreadsheets outside Jobber.
  • You have budget and time. A move means migration, training and a quoted contract, and someone in the office has to own it for weeks.

If only one of these is true, a lighter fix usually does the job.

When should I stay on Jobber?

Stay when the pain sits in your numbers and the daily work runs fine. Many owners start looking at ServiceTitan because they cannot see profit by job or by crew.

Jobber offers job costing on Grow and Plus. Its help center says job profit is revenue minus three costs: labor (timesheet hours at each employee's hourly cost), line item costs and job expenses. It also lists limits worth knowing:

  • Recurring jobs: costs are calculated from only the last 30 days of activity, and job costing reports cover one-off jobs only.
  • Double counting: a cost entered as both a line item cost and an expense is counted twice, which Jobber describes as a known limitation.

Jobber's built-in reports cover financial reports (invoices, payments, tax, projected income, client balances), work reports (visits, jobs, quotes, products and services, timesheets) and client reports, with CSV export and a report scheduler. They do not rank your crews or show profit by job type out of the box. That gap, between what Jobber shows and what ServiceTitan is bought for, is usually smaller than it looks. My Jobber reporting guide covers it in detail.

What is the middle option?

Keep Jobber and add what is missing. Jobber has a GraphQL API that covers clients, requests, quotes, jobs, visits, invoices, expenses, products and services, users and timesheet entries. A dashboard built on it can show:

  • Profit per job, per job type and per crew, including recurring work Jobber's own reports skip
  • Revenue per technician hour
  • Quote win rate by lead source
  • Cash due this month, with the jobs behind it
  • A weekly owner summary by text or email

This costs far less than a full move, and your crews keep the app they know. It also tells you whether you really do need ServiceTitan: if the numbers show the schedule and the phones are where you lose money, you have the evidence to justify the switch. My Jobber API guide covers what is possible, my KPI dashboard guide explains what to track, and if you are thinking of leaving Jobber for any reason, read outgrew Jobber first.

What should I ask before I switch?

A move changes how the whole office works, so get these answers in writing before you sign:

  • Price: the per-technician rate, any minimum number of techs, whether office users cost extra, and what each Pro product costs.
  • Onboarding: whether setup and training are quoted separately, and what they include.
  • Term: how long the contract runs, how renewal and notice work, and what leaving early costs.
  • Headcount changes: what happens to the bill if you lose or add technicians mid-term.
  • Data: which parts of your Jobber history move over, such as clients, properties, quotes, jobs and invoices, and who does the work.
  • Integrations: whether your accounting, payroll and phone tools connect, and which carry extra fees.
  • Go-live: the date the crew starts using it, and how you will run jobs during the change.

Run the demo with your own real jobs. Ask the sales team to build one of your busiest days in the system and watch which manual steps actually disappear.

What about other options?

ServiceTitan is not the only step up. Housecall Pro's Max plan adds route optimization, recurring service plans and open API access at $299 a month for eight users on annual billing. Service Fusion charges a flat fee with unlimited users from $208 a month billed yearly. How I help with this choice

I don't push a switch. I look at the questions you cannot answer today and the work that costs your office the most time, then tell you whether the right size of fix is a setting, a plan change, a dashboard on Jobber or a move to a larger tool. When it is a dashboard, I build it on Jobber's API so your crews change nothing. When ServiceTitan is genuinely the right call, I will say so, and the numbers from the dashboard make your quote negotiation much sharper.

Need something completely custom?

Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes the honest answer is that none of those quite fit, and what you actually need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. Questions people ask

Is ServiceTitan better than Jobber?

ServiceTitan has more depth for large teams, such as a dispatch board, call booking, payroll and custom dashboards. Jobber is simpler, shows its prices and fits smaller teams. Which is better depends on your size, your budget and the problem you are trying to fix.

Is ServiceTitan only for big companies?

ServiceTitan's pricing page says its per-technician pricing fits businesses "at any size," but its features page leans toward larger residential and commercial contractors, franchises and private-equity-backed firms. It publishes no minimum, so ask for one in your quote.

How much does ServiceTitan cost compared with Jobber?

Jobber lists plans from $49 a month month-to-month for one user, or $29 a month on the standing annual rate, as of October 2026. ServiceTitan gives a per-technician quote and publishes no price. Third-party trackers estimate roughly $245 to $500 per technician a month, unconfirmed by ServiceTitan, so compare a written quote with your Jobber bill.

Can I keep Jobber and get ServiceTitan-style dashboards?

Yes, in many cases. Jobber's GraphQL API lets a developer pull jobs, visits, invoices, expenses and timesheets into a dashboard of your own, including profit by crew and job type that Jobber's built-in reports don't show.

Does Jobber have job costing?

Yes, on the Grow and Plus plans. It combines labor, line item costs and job expenses into a profit figure for each job. Recurring jobs use only the last 30 days of costs and are left out of job costing reports, and a cost entered twice is counted twice.

Can I move my data from Jobber to ServiceTitan?

Jobber's reports export to CSV and its API exposes clients, jobs, quotes and invoices, so the data can come out. Ask ServiceTitan in writing which records it will import, who does the work and what it costs before you sign.

What does Jobber Plus include that lower plans don't?

Jobber lists crew scheduling, custom reports, Pipeline lead tracking, Marketing Suite, the AI Receptionist, expense capture with profitability alerts, and dedicated onboarding on Plus, which starts at $499 a month for five users month-to-month.
