ServiceTitan alternatives: field service software for trades, side by side

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 8 min read

Short answer: The main ServiceTitan alternatives are Service Fusion for unlimited users at a flat monthly price, FieldEdge for trades firms on QuickBooks, Workiz for growing teams that want AI answering, Jobber for small home service firms, and Housecall Pro for owner-led teams that want published prices. ServiceTitan prices per technician and shows no prices on its pricing page, as of October 2026. Service Fusion, Jobber and Housecall Pro publish theirs, from $29 a month billed yearly.

You're already paying ServiceTitan and trying to work out whether a switch is actually worth the hassle, or whether the grass just looks greener.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

Why do people look for a ServiceTitan alternative?

ServiceTitan's pricing page lists three packages. It shows no prices. Each one has a "Request Pricing" button, and the page says ServiceTitan uses "per-technician pricing."

ServiceTitan package What the page lists
Starter Dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing and a price book
Essentials Starter plus mobile estimates and payroll management
The Works The full suite, adding configurable payroll, advanced reports, commission tracking and memberships

So the reasons owners compare are usually about price and size.

  • You cannot see the price first: You need a sales call to learn what it costs. Some owners want to compare prices before they talk to anyone.
  • The cost grows with each technician: Per-technician pricing means each new hire adds to the bill.
  • A small shop may not need it all: A firm with 2 or 3 trucks may only need scheduling, quotes and invoices.
  • Some owners want to try it alone: Several alternatives offer free trials you can start without a call.

ServiceTitan suits trades firms that want one system for the office, the field and payroll. If that is you, get a quote and compare it with the options below.

Service Fusion

Service Fusion charges a flat monthly price with unlimited users. Starter costs $208 a month billed yearly, or $245 month to month. Plus costs $325 yearly or $382 monthly and adds inventory, job costing and built-in voice and text. Pro costs $533 yearly or $627 monthly and adds an open API, e-signatures and a customer portal. Select includes dispatch, booking, quotes, service agreements and a flat-rate price book. Premier adds multi-option quotes and commission tracking. Elite adds call recording, warehouse inventory and two-way texting. FieldEdge works with QuickBooks Online and Desktop. It has no free trial, and every plan comes with an onboarding specialist.

  • Best for: Trades firms that run their books in QuickBooks and want guided setup.

Workiz

Workiz has three plans, called Standard, Pro and Ultimate. All three say "Request pricing," and Workiz offers a 7-day free trial. Standard covers scheduling, estimates, invoices, online payments and a QuickBooks link. Pro adds AI tools for leads and scheduling, and multi-location management. Ultimate adds service plans, inventory, flat-rate pricing and an open API. Its Genius Answering add-on answers calls, emails and texts 24/7 in English, Spanish and French.

  • Best for: Growing teams and franchises that want AI to answer every lead.

Jobber

Jobber is field service software for small service firms. Core costs $29 a month billed yearly for 1 user, or $49 a month with no commitment. Connect costs $99 a month billed yearly for 1 user and adds automatic reminders and QuickBooks Online sync. Grow costs $149 billed yearly for 1 user and adds job costing and two-way texts. What about Service Fusion, FieldEdge and Workiz alternatives?

Service Fusion alternatives

Service Fusion's flat price helps large teams. A firm with only 1 or 2 users may pay less on Jobber Core or Housecall Pro Basic. If you want deeper payroll and commission tools, ServiceTitan's The Works and FieldEdge Premier both list commission tracking.

FieldEdge alternatives

FieldEdge asks for a demo before it shares a price. If you want to start a trial on your own, Jobber, Housecall Pro and Workiz all offer free trials. Service Fusion also links to QuickBooks and publishes its prices.

Workiz alternatives

Workiz sells AI answering as an add-on. Jobber sells its AI Receptionist for $29 a month. Housecall Pro says every plan includes AI team members that automate work. Compare each one on a week of your real calls before you choose.

Is ServiceTitan's pricing actually this opaque?

Yes, and it is worth knowing before you take a sales call. ServiceTitan does not publish prices. Independent pricing trackers and user reports put it at roughly $245 to $500 per technician a month depending on the tier, which means a 20-technician company could spend roughly $59,000 to $120,000 a year on the subscription alone, before onboarding and add-ons. These are third-party estimates, not ServiceTitan's figures. A complaint that comes up again and again in user reviews, for example on Trustpilot, is not the monthly price itself, it is the cost of leaving early: users describe owing the rest of their contract, and you only learn the real terms after a sales consultation. If you are already a ServiceTitan customer and considering a move, read your contract's notice and termination terms before you sign anything with anyone else.

When does custom field service software make sense?

For most trades businesses, one of the tools above is the right buy. Book two demos, run a trial with real jobs, and ask each vendor for the full yearly cost in writing. Custom software makes sense in a few cases.

  • Your jobs have unusual steps: For example, a fire safety firm that tracks inspections, certificates and repeat visits for each building.
  • Your tools do not share data: Dispatch, stock, payroll and accounting may live in separate apps that your office links by hand.
  • Per-tech fees grow too high: A firm with 80 technicians pays for every one of them, every month.
  • You want AI that follows your rules: For example, an AI that books jobs by tech skill, drive time and parts on the truck.

A custom tool can also sit beside the software you keep. It can add a customer portal, an AI booking agent or a custom report. My guide to field service management software covers the wider choice.

How does Blur Studio approach field service software?

I start with a day in your office. How does a call become a booked job, and how does a finished job become a paid invoice? Where do your staff retype data? Sometimes the honest answer is Jobber or Housecall Pro with a better setup, and I will tell you that. When your jobs need more, I build software around them. I connect it to your accounting, phone and payment tools, and I can add AI for call booking or job notes. Your business holds the code and the accounts, and I look after the software once it is live. My guide to field service management software covers the broader category if you are still deciding what you actually need.

Need something completely custom?

Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes the honest answer is that none of those quite fit, and what you actually need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. What is the cheapest ServiceTitan alternative?

Jobber Core costs $29 a month billed yearly for 1 user, as of October 2026. Housecall Pro Basic costs $59 a month billed yearly. Service Fusion starts at $208 a month billed yearly with unlimited users.

Is it expensive to cancel ServiceTitan?

Users describe leaving early as owing the rest of the contract, so the cost depends on how long is left and what you signed. Read your notice and termination terms carefully, ideally before you start evaluating alternatives, not after you have already decided to switch.

Roughly what does this cost?

As a broad reference, fixes and finishes start at around $1,500, and new builds start higher, always a fixed price agreed in writing before I start, never an hourly rate. My AI app cost guide explains what actually drives a quote up or down.

Is my project too small for this?

No. Most of the owners I work with have no tech team at all, that is the whole point. If the smarter move is a cheap software subscription instead of custom software, I will tell you that on the first call, even though it means I do not get paid.
