Higgsfield credits not showing or missing: what to check, in order
Short answer: Higgsfield is an AI image and video platform where a credit balance pays for each generation. Most "missing credit" cases trace back to three published rules: subscription credits reset every billing cycle and do not roll over, they are spent before purchased pack credits, and some tools outside the website always use credits. Check the right workspace, compare the top-bar balance with the Subscription card, then read the Usage log. Whether support restores expired credits is not published, so keep evidence and do not assume it.
You opened Higgsfield and the number is lower than you expected, or zero. Before you write an angry ticket, run four checks that take about ten minutes and give support something to work with.
I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.
This page is about one situation: the credit balance on Higgsfield, an AI image and video platform that charges credits per generation, does not match what you think you bought. It does not teach you how to spend credits, which is covered in how to spend credits wisely. It gives a diagnostic order, explains the published rules that cause most surprises, and ends with a monthly evidence pack you can build in five minutes.

Short answer: most missing credits are expiry, spend order or where you generated
Higgsfield's own help center (read 4 November 2026) explains the main causes:
- Subscription credits reset at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over. The Terms of Use say the same.
- Subscription credits are spent first. Credit pack, promo and auto-refill credits come after, by soonest expiry. So your purchased credits can look untouched while the monthly balance drains.
- Credit pack, auto-refill and boost credits expire 90 days after purchase. Promo credits expire on the date issued.
- Tools used outside the website, such as the connection that lets Claude use Higgsfield (called MCP, a standard way for AI apps to call other services), the command-line tool, Canvas and Supercomputer, cannot use the website's unlimited modes, so they use credits.
The limit: what Higgsfield support will do for credits that have expired is not published. More on that below.
Check 1: right account, right workspace
This is the cheapest check, so it goes first.
- Right email. If you ever signed up with a work email and a personal email, or with a social login, you may have two accounts with two balances. Check which login you are using and which one holds the payment.
- Right workspace. Higgsfield's enterprise help center says that on Team accounts, sub-workspaces have their own allocations. You can be at zero in one workspace and fine in another. On the same page, it points to Manage Account, Members, where a member limit or a paused member can stop someone from generating even though the pool has credits.
- Right plan. Confirm the plan name on the account page matches what you bought. If a payment went through but the plan shows as Free, that is a billing question for support, with the receipt attached.
Team and Scale are Higgsfield's business plans: they share one workspace and one credit pool across seats, which is exactly why a teammate's heavy use can empty the pool without you seeing the jobs. Plan details are on the pricing page summary, and you should check the live pricing page before relying on any number.
Check 2: the top bar versus the Subscription card
Higgsfield shows your balance in the top navigation bar. A fuller breakdown sits under Manage Account, then Subscription. The help center says the Subscription view shows monthly credits and auto-refill credits separately.
Compare the two views. A few patterns to look for:
- Top bar shows a total, card shows two buckets. The total is not wrong. It is the sum of buckets that expire on different dates.
- Monthly bucket is low, pack bucket is full. Spend order explains this. The monthly credits were used first.
- Monthly bucket is zero right after renewal. The help center lists three reasons credits may not have renewed: the reset date has not arrived yet, the renewal payment failed (the subscription goes past due and no new credits are added until payment succeeds), or the subscription was cancelled. Check the billing date on the card. If the cycle has just turned over, the new cycle's credits should appear. If they do not, that is a real support case.
- Everything is zero after you cancelled. Higgsfield says that after you cancel, subscription credits stay usable until the end of the paid period and then expire permanently. Packs and promo credits are described as staying on the free plan for their validity, for models the free plan includes. The Terms of Use are blunter: unused credits expire on account cancellation, "except as provided" in a later section on refunds. Read both before you cancel an account that holds a pack.
Write down both numbers and the date. You will need them.
Check 3: the Usage log
Under Manage Account, the Usage view lists every credit operation: per-generation deductions, refunds and spend per model. This is the single most useful page for a "where did they go" question.
How to read it:
- Sort by date and find the day the balance dropped.
- Look at the model on each deduction. A few expensive video jobs can use more than dozens of cheap images. Credit costs per model are on the pricing page for some models, and not published for others, where the cost shows on the Generate button.
- Look for refunds next to failed jobs. If a job failed and no refund line follows, note it for support. Higgsfield says some models may not refund failed generations, so a missing refund is not always an error.
- Look for jobs you do not remember. A teammate, an automation or an AI assistant connected through MCP can all spend from the same balance.
The limit you must know: the help center says the log only covers activity from the date it was enabled on your account. Older discrepancies may not be provable from it. That is a strong reason to start the monthly habit below today.
What Higgsfield itself gives you for tracking credits
Put together, the published tools are decent for a single user, and thin for a team that bills clients:
- A balance in the top bar and a bucket-by-bucket view under Subscription.
- A Usage log with deductions, refunds and per-model spend.
- Promo credits that show the date they expire. Promo codes are entered under Manage Account, Promocode, and the help center says they apply instantly.
- Auto-refill, a setting that buys more credits when you fall below a threshold. It is useful, but it is also a way to spend without noticing, so check the setting before you assume nothing was bought.
- Automatic return of credits for most failed jobs, usually in minutes.
- A refund policy in the Terms: a refund of an initial purchase is possible within 7 days if no credits were used, with a service fee of up to 6% where law allows. Renewals are not refundable. Credit packs and auto-refill are refundable within 7 days if unused. UK, EU and EEA buyers have a 14-day withdrawal right through support. Using free or unlimited generations does not count as using credits.
What is not published: pack prices, a rollover option on standard plans, a guaranteed way to restore expired credits, or a spend cap on MCP use. The last one matters if you connect Claude to your account, because there is no native cap. The page on using Higgsfield through Claude covers that setup.
Try Higgsfield with a discount
I use Higgsfield a lot and I love it, which is why I partnered with them to bring you a discount. Get started through this link and you can get up to 50% off for the first 3 hours after you log in. The size of the discount and the plans it covers can vary, so check the offer on screen.
Why credits really disappear
Four mechanisms account for most reports. None requires a bug.
1. The reset. Subscription credits do not roll over. An unused monthly balance is gone at renewal. Higgsfield's credits article says that on monthly plans credits reset with each paid renewal, and on annual plans every 30 days rather than on the same calendar date, so the reset day shifts over time. If you bought annual billing expecting to bank a year of credits, this is the most likely surprise.
2. Spend order. Because monthly credits go first, a purchased pack looks like it is sitting idle. The reverse also happens: at renewal the unused monthly balance disappears while the pack remains, so the total drops by more than you spent.
3. Outside-the-website use. Unlimited modes and free generations are web only. Work started through MCP, the command line, Canvas or Supercomputer uses credits. A teammate with an AI assistant can drain a pool with no sign on the website.
4. Bonus credits on business plans. Team and Scale list bonus credits, and Higgsfield states bonus credits expire in 30 days. Do not count them as permanent.
Independent signals say this is a common sore point. On 4 November 2026, Higgsfield's Trustpilot page showed about 4.0 out of 5 across roughly 5,300 reviews, and recent negative themes included credits vanishing after a renewal, failed-generation charges and renewals after cancelling. Those are opinions, not verified facts, and a rating changes daily, so re-check before relying on it. I mention them because they show why records matter. For the wider trust picture, see is Higgsfield safe and legit.
Check 4: was it monthly or annual billing
Open the invoice or receipt from your payment provider, not just the app. Look for the plan name, the billing period, the amount and the renewal date.
- If you were charged for twelve months at once, you are on annual billing. Per the credits article, annual plans reset every 30 days, so credits arrive on that rolling schedule and not all at once.
- If you were charged a monthly amount, check how many months have passed. A renewal you forgot about is common, and Higgsfield says renewals are not refundable.
- If you cancelled, check the date you cancelled against the renewal date. Cancelling stops future charges and does not refund the current period.
To cancel cleanly and know what survives, see how to cancel Higgsfield and what happens to credits.
When to contact support and what to send
Contact support through higgsfield.ai/contact when the checks above do not explain the number. Good reasons:
- You were charged and the plan or credits did not change.
- A renewal went through and the new cycle's credits never appeared.
- Credits were deducted for a failed job and no refund shows after a reasonable wait.
- Deductions appear in the Usage log for activity nobody on your team recognises.
Ask for an explanation and a correction, and do not promise yourself an outcome. Whether support restores credits that expired under the reset rules is not published. One reviewer on Trustpilot says credits were restored after a second review, but that is a single report, and I would not plan around it. If your only problem is "my monthly credits expired and I did not use them", expect the published rule to apply.
Send this in one message so support does not have to ask:
- Account email and workspace name.
- Plan name and whether billing is monthly or annual, from the invoice.
- Dates: purchase, last renewal, cancellation if any.
- Screenshot of the top-bar balance and the Subscription card, both with the date visible.
- Screenshots of the Usage log around the day the balance changed.
- Generation IDs or times for any failed jobs with no refund.
- What you expected the balance to be and why, in two sentences.
Records to keep each month
Because the Usage log only goes back to when it was enabled on your account, your own record is the proof that lasts. A five-minute monthly routine:
- On the day before renewal, screenshot the top bar and the Subscription card.
- Note how many monthly credits are about to expire, and spend them on work you already need.
- After renewal, screenshot both again.
- Save the invoice or receipt in one folder named by month.
- Export or screenshot the Usage log pages for the month.
- Add one line to a sheet: date, plan, balance before, balance after, notes.
If you resell or bill AI work to clients, put this beside your project costs. A simple client-by-client sheet is shown in tracking AI spend by client. For a team, add a rule about who may connect an AI assistant to the shared account, since that is the spend you cannot see on the website.
Protect yourself before the next renewal
- Set a calendar reminder two days before renewal.
- Decide on the plan size from your measured use, not from the headline credit number. The monthly reset means a plan larger than your real use is wasted money.
- If you want credits that last, remember that packs last 90 days while monthly credits do not. Packs are a way to hold a buffer, but check the current checkout, because pack sizes shown have varied.
- Turn off auto-refill unless you want it.
- If you use MCP, set your own limit by checking the balance after each session.
Who should skip this, and when a different tool fits better
If you want pay-as-you-go with no monthly balance that can expire, a plan that resets every cycle is a weak fit for you. Some services sell per-generation access with no monthly reset. Segmind, which sells such access, argues this on its own blog, and it is a competitor, so check its page and prices yourself before relying on that. For occasional users the 90-day credit packs may suit better than a subscription, and the free-versus-paid page, Higgsfield free vs paid, helps you compare.
Skip the self-help route and write to support first if money has left your account and nothing changed, because that is a billing error and not a credit rule.
How I'd approach this
I would assume the published rules are the rules. Credits reset, order matters, and records are mine to keep. So I would match the plan size to measured use, spend monthly credits before they expire, and take two screenshots a month. If something still looks wrong, I would send support the evidence pack above in one message and ask a clear question, not a general complaint.
If you are still choosing a plan, look at Higgsfield's current plans and read the credit rules before you pay, not after. And if you manage AI spend for a team or for clients, Blur Studio can build the tracking, approvals and shared asset library around it, so the balance is never a surprise. See how I work with businesses.
Questions people ask
Do Higgsfield credits roll over?
Subscription credits do not. Higgsfield's help center and Terms say they reset at the end of each billing cycle. Credit pack, auto-refill and boost credits last 90 days from purchase, and promo credits expire on the date shown. Enterprise plans list rollover credits for volume deals, so ask sales if you need that.
Do Higgsfield credit packs expire?
Yes. According to the help center, credit pack, auto-refill and boost credits expire 90 days after purchase. The credit pack sizes shown at checkout have varied and pack prices are not printed on the pricing page, so check the checkout screen.
Why did my credits drop faster than I expected?
Open the Usage log under Manage Account and sort by date and model. Expensive video jobs, a teammate on a shared workspace, or an AI assistant connected through MCP are the usual reasons. Auto-refill can also add credits you did not expect. The log only covers activity since it was enabled on your account.
Do failed generations refund credits?
Higgsfield says credits for failed generations are returned automatically, usually within a few minutes, and shows refunds in the Usage log. It also says some models may not refund. The stage-by-stage steps are in what to check when a generation fails or is stuck.
What happens to my credits if I cancel?
Higgsfield says subscription credits stay usable until the end of the paid period and then expire permanently. Credit packs, auto-refill, promo and boost credits stay for their validity period, for models the free plan includes. Cancelling does not refund the current period. See how to cancel Higgsfield.
Can Higgsfield support restore expired credits?
That is not published. The help center describes expiry as a rule, and no page promises a restoration. A single Trustpilot reviewer reports one after a second review, which is an anecdote. Ask politely with your evidence, but plan as if expired credits stay expired.
Why does the top bar show a different number from the Subscription card?
The top bar shows the total available. The Subscription card, under Manage Account, breaks it into monthly credits and other buckets such as auto-refill, which expire on different dates. Screenshot both before you contact support.
