NiceJob reviews: the real praise, the real complaints

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 4 min read

Short answer: NiceJob rates well on the review sites that matter most for a B2B software decision: 4.8 out of 5 on G2 (around 410 reviews, mostly from small businesses) and 4.9 out of 5 on Capterra (around 200 reviews). Trustpilot tells a less flattering story at 3.3 out of 5, from around 26 reviews, several of which are about outbound sales calls rather than the product itself. The recurring genuine complaints are a thin mobile app, limited customization of templates and workflows, and a handful of reports of duplicate contacts. None of these are dealbreakers for most single-location buyers, but they're worth weighing against what you actually need.

You want to know what NiceJob is actually like to use day to day, not just its star rating.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

What do the ratings actually say?

SiteRatingReview countNote
G24.8 / 5~41094.9% from small businesses, per G2's own reviewer-size breakdown
Capterra4.9 / 5~200One of the highest ratings in its category on Capterra
Trustpilot3.3 / 5~26Small sample; several reviews concern outbound sales calls, not the product itself

The gap between Trustpilot and the other two is worth explaining rather than averaging away. G2 and Capterra reviews mostly come from people actively using the product day to day, and NiceJob's own in-app prompts likely nudge happy users toward leaving a review there. Trustpilot's much smaller sample skews toward people motivated to complain, and in NiceJob's case a few of those complaints are about a cold-calling sales process rather than the software. That doesn't erase the Trustpilot complaints, but it does mean the 4.8 to 4.9 range on G2 and Capterra is the more representative signal for "what is this like to actually use."

What do users genuinely like?

  • Setup is fast and low-effort. G2 reviewers consistently cite how little time it takes to get review requests running, especially once connected to a job platform. See how to set up NiceJob for the steps.
  • The Jobber integration specifically stands out. Multiple reviewers single out the one-click review invite flow once Jobber is connected, and describe a real, visible jump in review volume after turning it on.
  • It needs little ongoing maintenance. A theme across reviews is that once it's set up, it keeps running without someone having to manage it week to week, which matters for a small team with no dedicated marketing person.
  • Support is responsive during setup. Several reviewers praise the onboarding help specifically, separate from the Trustpilot complaints about a later support interaction.

What do users genuinely complain about?

  • The mobile app is thin. More than one reviewer notes the app covers only a fraction of what the desktop dashboard does, so you'll likely be logging in on a browser for anything beyond a quick check.
  • Templates and workflows aren't very customizable. If you want granular control over exact wording, timing and branching logic for review-request sequences, several reviewers say NiceJob is more rigid than that, favoring simplicity over configurability.
  • A handful of reports of duplicate contacts. A small number of reviews describe customers or contacts appearing more than once after syncing from a connected platform, which is worth asking about directly if your customer list already has messy duplicates.
  • Review-site coverage has gaps. Some reviewers wanted a platform NiceJob doesn't monitor (a specific example raised is Angie's List) added to its tracked sites.
  • A small number of post-signup support complaints. On Trustpilot specifically, a couple of long-time users describe account-access problems and slow support response after the initial onboarding period, a different experience from the praise onboarding gets elsewhere. It's a small sample, but worth asking a current rep directly how ongoing support actually works once you're past setup.

Which complaints actually matter?

The thin mobile app and limited customization are the two I'd take most seriously, because they describe the product as it's built, not an occasional glitch. If you need to manage review requests heavily from your phone, or you have specific brand voice requirements for every message a customer sees, test the actual template editor and the app before you buy, don't take the marketing page's word for it.

The duplicate-contact and post-signup support complaints are real but lower-volume. I'd flag them as "ask about this on your demo call" items rather than reasons to rule NiceJob out: ask specifically how it de-duplicates contacts from your job platform, and ask what support looks like six months after onboarding, not just during it. The outbound sales call complaints on Trustpilot are about the buying process, not the product, so weigh them separately from whether the software itself is good.

If any of the product limitations above are the actual dealbreaker for you rather than a minor annoyance, my NiceJob alternatives page covers which other platforms close that specific gap. NiceJob problems and complaints: what owners say goes further.

How I'd approach this

When a client asks me whether a tool like NiceJob is "good," I tell them ratings this consistent across two major review sites are a real signal, not noise, and that the actual question is narrower: does it do the one thing you need well enough that building or buying something else isn't worth the cost. For straightforward automated review requests on one location, it clearly does. Where I get involved is when a business has outgrown the template and customization limits reviewers describe, or wants the review trigger wired directly into their own job data instead of through NiceJob's integration layer. In that case I build the specific piece that's missing, on top of what you already use, rather than replacing a tool that's otherwise working for you. NiceJob vs Broadly: why the price comparison changed is worth a look as a comparison.

Questions people ask

Is NiceJob actually good, or are the reviews inflated?

The 4.8 on G2 and 4.9 on Capterra, across roughly 400 and 200 reviews respectively, are consistent enough across two independent platforms to treat as a genuine signal, not an inflated number. The lower 3.3 Trustpilot score comes from a much smaller sample and includes complaints about the sales process rather than the product.

What is the biggest complaint about NiceJob?

The two that come up most in actual user reviews are a thin mobile app that covers less than the desktop dashboard, and limited customization of message templates and automation timing. Neither is a dealbreaker for most single-location buyers, but test both before committing if they matter to you.

Does NiceJob have duplicate contact issues?

A small number of reviewers report duplicate contacts appearing after syncing from a connected job platform. It isn't a dominant theme in the reviews, but it's worth asking directly how NiceJob de-duplicates contacts if your existing customer list already has messy duplicates.

Why is NiceJob's Trustpilot rating so much lower than G2 or Capterra?

Mostly sample size and what's being reviewed. Trustpilot has only around 26 reviews for NiceJob, several of which concern outbound sales calls during the buying process rather than the software itself, which pulls the average down relative to the roughly 400 and 200 product-focused reviews on G2 and Capterra.

Is NiceJob's customer support good?

Reviews on G2 and Capterra consistently praise onboarding support specifically. A smaller number of Trustpilot reviews describe slower or less helpful support later in the relationship, well after setup. Ask directly what ongoing support looks like once you're past onboarding.

What do users like most about NiceJob?

Fast, low-effort setup and the one-click Jobber integration come up most often, with several reviewers describing a visible jump in review volume after turning it on and needing little ongoing maintenance afterward.
