What does NiceJob connect to, and how does the sync actually work?

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 4 min read

Short answer: NiceJob connects directly to Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, QuickBooks, Square, Stripe, HubSpot, Xero, CompanyCam and several other field service and CRM platforms, plus 9,000+ apps through Zapier. The core workflow is the same across the main field service integrations: when a job is marked finished or closed in the connected platform, NiceJob automatically enrolls that customer in a review request campaign, text first, then up to three spaced emails if they don't respond. A feature NiceJob calls Smart Auto-Exit stops the sequence the moment a review is detected, and NiceJob also won't ask the same customer again for 6 months, even if they show up in another closed job sooner than that. The connection is set up entirely from inside NiceJob, takes a few minutes, and only sends data one way, from your job platform into NiceJob, nothing flows back.

You want to know exactly what NiceJob connects to and whether the review request actually fires automatically once a job closes, without digging through three different help centers.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

What integrations does NiceJob have?

NiceJob's own site lists integrations by connection count, which is a reasonable proxy for which ones are actually used. Sorted by what they do:

  • Field service and job management: Jobber (the most-connected integration by a wide margin), Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, ServiceMonster, FieldPulse, Markate, JobTread.
  • Accounting: QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks.
  • Payments and point of sale: Square, Stripe.
  • Photos: CompanyCam. More on that one in CompanyCam integrations: Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuickBooks and API.
  • CRM and scheduling: HubSpot, Mindbody, UEAT.
  • Everything else: Zapier, connecting to 9,000+ additional apps.

Of that list, three integrations do the real work for most businesses: whichever field service platform you actually run jobs on, QuickBooks or Xero if you want revenue and review data to line up, and Zapier as the catch-all for anything not named directly. The rest solve a specific, narrower problem each (CompanyCam for photo-based trades, Mindbody for appointment-based wellness businesses), worth connecting only if you already use that specific tool.

How does the "job closed" trigger actually work?

The mechanics differ slightly by platform, verified against each platform's own help documentation:

  • Jobber: when a job closes in Jobber, the client's contact information transfers to NiceJob, which enrolls them in your review campaign. The connection is one way: responses and review data live in NiceJob only and never flow back into Jobber. Jobber's own help center specifically recommends turning off Jobber's built-in automatic job follow-ups once NiceJob is connected, to avoid sending the same customer two separate requests.
  • Housecall Pro: pressing "Finish" on a job enrolls the customer in NiceJob's review campaign, and the first text goes out within about 15 minutes. If employees are assigned to the job in Housecall Pro, that assignment transfers too, so NiceJob can attribute the resulting review to the right team member. One real limitation: NiceJob does not retroactively invite your existing customer base once you connect it. The automated flow only starts with jobs completed after you connect the integration, so your past customers won't get swept into a review campaign unless you invite them manually. For the other side of that link, see Housecall Pro integrations: QuickBooks, Zapier and what actually connects.
  • ServiceTitan: when a job closes in ServiceTitan, the customer can be enrolled in a review campaign and, separately, a referral campaign, giving ServiceTitan users a path to reviews and referrals from the same closed job, if both are configured.

Across every platform, you can opt a specific customer or job out of automated requests by tagging them "noreview" inside NiceJob, useful for a customer you know is unhappy or one you've already asked by hand.

How do I connect Jobber to NiceJob?

The connection is made entirely from NiceJob's side, not Jobber's, and takes a few minutes:

  1. In NiceJob, go to Settings, then Product Settings.
  2. From the settings sidebar, click Apps.
  3. Find Jobber in the app list and click Connect.
  4. On the confirmation pop-up, click Connect again.
  5. You'll be asked to authorize NiceJob to access your Jobber account. Click Allow Access.

That's the whole process. NiceJob will show the name and email of whichever admin user made the connection. Housecall Pro's setup follows the same shape: connect from NiceJob's Apps settings, authorize access, and the integration starts enrolling newly completed jobs. Immediately after connecting either one, go into your job platform's own automated follow-up settings and turn off its built-in review or thank-you message, so customers don't get two separate requests from two different systems. The rest of the first-day steps are in how to set up NiceJob.

Does NiceJob work with Zapier?

Yes, and its Zapier listing is unusually generous compared to most field service and CRM tools, which typically expose one or two thin actions. NiceJob offers two triggers (Person Created or Updated, and Review Created or Updated) and a genuinely useful set of actions: Create Booking, Create Case, Create Employee, Create Invoice, Create or Update Person, Create Payment, Create Visit, and Enroll Contact (which drops a contact straight into a NiceJob review campaign, defaulting to the Get Reviews campaign). There's also a Find a Person lookup. That Enroll Contact action is the one worth knowing about if your job platform isn't on NiceJob's direct-integration list: you can usually still trigger a NiceJob review campaign from whatever system you do use, through Zapier, instead of waiting for a native integration that may never come. If Zapier is not enough, read what the NiceJob API can do and how to get access.

Which integrations actually matter?

If you run Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan, that native connection is the one thing worth setting up first, since it's purpose-built, free to connect, and handles the entire review request loop without a Zapier subscription. QuickBooks or Xero matter less for triggering reviews and more for keeping your records straight if you ever want to join review data with revenue. Everything else on the list is a nice-to-have, worth connecting only once you've confirmed you actually use that specific tool day to day. I'd treat Zapier as the real safety net here, not a last resort: its action list for NiceJob is rich enough that a missing native integration usually isn't a dead end.

How I'd approach this

When a client asks me to connect NiceJob to something not on its direct-integration list, I check Zapier's action set before assuming a custom build is needed, since Enroll Contact alone covers the single most common request: fire a review campaign the moment a job finishes in whatever system actually runs the business. Where I do build something custom is when a business wants review data joined with job profitability or technician performance in one dashboard, which NiceJob's one-way sync was never designed to support, or when the job platform in question has no native NiceJob connection and no usable Zapier trigger of its own. In both cases I build the link on the source platform's API, keep NiceJob as the system actually sending review requests, and give you one place to see the combined picture.

Questions people ask

Does NiceJob sync both ways with Jobber?

No. The sync is one way, from Jobber into NiceJob. Client contact information transfers to NiceJob to start a review campaign, but review responses and any data NiceJob generates never flow back into Jobber.

Will NiceJob automatically invite my existing Housecall Pro customers?

No. NiceJob's integration with Housecall Pro only enrolls customers from jobs completed after you connect it. Your existing customer history won't be swept into an automated campaign; you'd need to invite past customers manually if you want to reach them.

How fast does NiceJob send a review request after a job finishes?

On Housecall Pro, the first text goes out within about 15 minutes of marking a job Finished. Jobber's integration triggers in a similar window once a job closes. Both are followed by up to three spaced emails over the following couple of weeks if the customer doesn't respond to the first text.

Can I stop a specific customer from getting a review request?

Yes. Tag the customer or the specific job "noreview" inside NiceJob, and it will skip them for that request.

Will a repeat customer get asked for a review every time they have a job done?

No. NiceJob enforces a 6-month cooldown per customer, so even a repeat customer with multiple closed jobs won't be re-enrolled in a new review request until 6 months have passed since the last one. Combined with Smart Auto-Exit, which stops the sequence the moment someone actually leaves a review, this is what keeps repeat customers from feeling spammed.

Does NiceJob work with ServiceTitan?

Yes, as a direct integration. When a job closes in ServiceTitan, the customer can be enrolled in a review campaign and a separate referral campaign, giving you both from the same closed job if you've configured both.

What should I turn off in Jobber or Housecall Pro once NiceJob is connected?

Your job platform's own built-in automated follow-up or thank-you message. Jobber's help center specifically recommends this, since leaving both running sends the same customer two separate requests for the same job.

What if my job software isn't on NiceJob's integration list?

Check Zapier first. NiceJob's Zapier listing includes an Enroll Contact action that drops a contact straight into a review campaign, which covers the most common need even without a native integration. For anything more involved, like joining review data with job profit, a custom connection on the source platform's API is usually the better route.
