Scoro alternatives for agencies and service firms
Short answer: The main Scoro alternatives are Accelo, Productive, Teamwork.com, Avaza and Paymo. Productive and Accelo are the closest match for firms that want quotes, projects, time and billing in one tool. Teamwork.com suits teams that care most about projects and client work. Avaza and Paymo suit small teams that want low prices, and Paymo also has a free plan for one user.
You're evaluating Scoro against the alternatives for your agency or service firm and want the real pricing and fit differences.
I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.
Why do people look for a Scoro alternative?
Scoro is a full-featured tool, and many firms like it. The reasons to compare usually come from the pricing rules on its own page.
- There is a 5-user minimum: Every Scoro package needs at least 5 seats. A firm of 3 still pays for 5.
- Prices depend on the apps you pick: Scoro sells core apps in packages. Time-billing costs $17 a user a month. Projects & Resources and Quote to Cash each cost $29. End-to-end, which has all core apps, costs $57.
- Extras cost more: Scoro sells extras on top of each package, such as a customer portal and time off management. Their prices sit in its pricing configurator.
- Onboarding help is priced by quote: Self-onboarding is free for teams of up to 15 people. The assisted and professional onboarding packages do not show a price.
Paying yearly gives a 13% to 17% discount, depending on currency and package. So 5 users on End-to-end cost $285 a month before any discount or extras. For a 20-person firm that uses it all, that can be fair value. For a small team that only needs time and invoices, a lighter tool may be enough.
Scoro offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card needed.
What are the best Scoro alternatives?

Blur Studio (best value)
A ready-built, well-tested core with a different pricing model: no per-seat fees, and it covers almost all the features you'd actually need, usually working out to the best value for money. Accelo
Accelo calls itself AI-powered PSA software for professional services firms. It links projects, resources, time tracking and project finances in one system. It also has a client workspace, and it runs fixed-fee projects and retainers side by side. Creative agencies can also read Workamajig and Accelo alternatives. Accelo does not list prices. Its page says pricing is based on team size and growth goals. It also says plans include implementation guidance, onboarding support and the full platform. You request a quote.
- Best for: Firms that run many retainers and want setup help included.
Productive
Productive covers budgets, resource planning, projects, time tracking, docs and reports. Its Essential plan starts from $10 a user a month. What is a good Accelo alternative?
Firms leave Accelo for the same reasons they leave Scoro. They want a price they can see, or a lighter tool. Scoro is the closest match, and it shows its prices. Productive is a strong pick if you care most about staff planning and profit per project. Teamwork.com fits if project delivery matters more than sales and quotes.
Scoro vs Accelo: the real pricing difference
This comparison comes up often enough to deal with directly. Scoro publishes its prices: Core at roughly $19.90 a user a month, Growth at $32.90, Performance at $49.90, all billed annually with a 5-seat minimum, and a custom-quoted Enterprise tier. Accelo, by contrast, does not publish pricing at all, you have to request a quote. If transparent, predictable pricing matters to you as much as the features do, that difference alone is worth knowing before you book a demo with either.
What should professional services software do?
Before you compare tools, write down how your firm sells and bills. Then check each tool against that list.
- Quotes and estimates: Build a quote, win it, and turn it into a project with one click.
- Time tracking: Staff log time against tasks, and you see billable and non-billable hours.
- Resource planning: You can see who is free next week and who is overbooked.
- Retainers and budgets: The tool warns you before a project or retainer runs over.
- Invoicing: Invoices come from logged time, fixed fees or milestones, and sync to your accounting tool.
- Profit reports: You see the margin on each client, project and person.
Run a trial with one real client project from quote to invoice. That shows gaps faster than any demo. My guide to CRMs for agencies covers the sales side in more depth.
When does building your own system make sense?
Most firms should buy one of these tools. They cover the common way service firms work, and they keep improving.
A custom system can be worth it in a few cases.
- Your billing is unusual: You mix retainers, fixed fees, success fees and rate cards that change by client.
- Data sits in many places: Your CRM, time tool, project tool and accounting system each hold part of the truth.
- Seats add up: You have 50 or more staff, and the yearly bill is close to the cost of a tool you own.
- Clients need their own view: You want a portal where each client sees hours, budget and status.
AI can help here too. An AI helper can draft timesheets from calendars and emails, so staff only check them. It can write a weekly status note for each client from the project data. It can also draft a first quote from past jobs of the same type. My guide to AI for consultants has more ideas like these.
How does Blur Studio approach this?
I ask to see one real project, from the first quote to the last invoice. I look at where staff copy data by hand and where numbers stop matching. If Scoro or one of these tools fits, I say so. I can then connect AI to it where the vendor allows it. If no tool fits, I build the missing part, or the whole system, and your firm keeps the code and accounts. For the wider choice, read my guide on build vs buy software. My guide to CRM for agencies covers the client-pipeline side of this same problem if that's closer to what's actually missing.
Need something completely custom?
Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes the honest answer is that none of those quite fit, and what you actually need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. Questions people ask
How much does Scoro cost?
As of October 2026, Scoro prices start at $17 a user a month for its Time-billing package. End-to-end costs $57 a user a month. Every package needs at least 5 users, and yearly billing saves 13% to 17%.
Is Accelo cheaper than Scoro?
Accelo does not list prices, as of October 2026. It quotes based on team size and growth goals. Ask Accelo and Scoro for quotes for the same team and the same features.
What is the cheapest Scoro alternative?
Teamwork.com, Avaza and Paymo all have free plans, as of October 2026. Teamwork.com's free plan allows up to 5 users. Avaza's paid Startup plan costs $9.96 a month billed yearly.
What is professional services automation software?
Professional services automation software, or PSA, runs the business side of a service firm. It links quotes, projects, staff time, budgets and invoices. Accelo describes itself as PSA software, and Scoro and Productive cover the same jobs.
Can I move my data out of Scoro?
Most of these tools can import clients, projects and time entries. Ask the new vendor what they move for you. Export your invoices and time records first, and keep a copy.
Roughly what does this cost?
As a broad reference, fixes and finishes start at around $1,500, and new builds start higher, always a fixed price agreed in writing before I start, never an hourly rate. My AI app cost guide explains what actually drives a quote up or down.
Is my project too small for this?
No. Most of the owners I work with have no tech team at all, that is the whole point. If the smarter move is a cheap software subscription instead of custom software, I will tell you that on the first call, even though it means I do not get paid.
