Simpro pricing: what it actually costs a trade business

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 7 min read

Short answer: Simpro does not publish prices. Its pricing page lists one Base Plan and several paid add-ons with no dollar amounts, and every button leads to a Request Pricing form. Simpro's own product pages say the price depends on team size, workflows and add-ons, with no minimum user count or per-user rate stated publicly. The one real figure that surfaces anywhere is from buyer reviews, not Simpro: one Capterra reviewer, in 2026, reported paying 200 NZD per user a month, plus 50 NZD a month for users who need the mobile app. Treat that as one buyer's experience, not a rate card, and get your own quote itemized line by line before you sign.

You want to know what Simpro is actually going to cost your business, not just that it's 'custom pricing', and whether there's any real number anyone outside Simpro has ever paid.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

Search for Simpro pricing and you mostly find review sites with dollar figures attached to Simpro's name. None of those figures come from Simpro itself. The company's own answer, consistently, is "request pricing." This page covers exactly what Simpro does publish, what shapes the final bill, the one concrete number a real buyer has reported paying, and what to get in writing before you sign anything.

How much does Simpro cost?

Simpro's pricing page lists no dollar amount anywhere. Every plan and add-on points to a Request Pricing form, and the product pages say pricing is custom, based on team size, workflows and the add-ons you select. There is no published per-user rate, no stated minimum number of users, and no listed contract length.

That means two trade businesses doing similar work can end up on very different bills. The only number you can actually rely on is the one on your own itemized quote, not anything you read on a comparison site.

What are the Simpro pricing plans?

Simpro's pricing page lists a single named plan, the Base Plan, covering quoting and estimating, scheduling, real-time inventory and purchasing, field operations, invoicing and payments, accounting and finance, reporting and business intelligence, multi-company use, and three included Data Feeds. There are no published tiers above or below it; everything else is an add-on.

A few other names come up in search and are worth clearing up:

  • Simpro Premium: the name used for the office portal in Simpro's own navigation, not a separate pricing tier.
  • Simpro Suite: a term people search for, but Simpro's own pricing page doesn't use it as a plan name.
  • Lightning: Simpro's AI layer, described below. No separate listed price.

What add-ons change the Simpro price?

The pricing page lists these as paid add-ons, none with a shown price: Digital Forms, extra Data Feeds beyond the three included, Maintenance Planner, Takeoffs, Simtrac, SMS and VoIP. None of these are explained in enough depth on the pricing page itself to know exactly what you get, so ask for a live demo of each one you think you need before it goes on your quote.

A quote for the Base Plan plus Digital Forms and SMS will look very different from a quote for the Base Plan alone. Get the add-on list, with each one priced on its own line, not bundled into a single "monthly total" number you can't break apart later.

What is Simpro Lightning, and does it cost extra?

Lightning is Simpro's AI layer, built into the platform rather than sold as a separate product. As of October 2026 it includes five named agents: JustAsk (ask plain-English questions about your Simpro data without building a report), FieldReady (standardized technician training and onboarding), JobReady (pulls job history, site notes and part requirements into a pre-job brief), JobScribe (captures labor hours, materials and compliance notes from a technician talking on site, instead of typing), and JobBrief (writes and sends a post-job customer summary automatically).

Simpro's marketing pages describe Lightning as built into the platform, but neither the pricing page nor the product pages state plainly whether every agent is included in the Base Plan at no extra cost. Ask for each Lightning agent to be listed on your quote by name, so you know on day one which ones you actually have access to, rather than discovering later that one of them is gated. One feature the earlier version of this page referenced, a CSR-style tool for handling calls and bookings, isn't documented anywhere on Simpro's current pages. If answering and booking calls automatically is what you want, two Simpro Marketplace apps already do that job today: Voice Agents by Simplementary and AI Receptionist by Supportiyo, both built by third parties on top of Simpro, not by Simpro itself.

What does Simpro HVAC software pricing look like?

Simpro lists HVAC among its supported trades, alongside electrical, plumbing, fire protection and security, with no trade-specific price shown anywhere. An HVAC business should specifically ask about service agreement handling, equipment records, the Maintenance Planner add-on for recurring maintenance, and Digital Forms for job sheets, since these are the pieces most likely to move the final number for a maintenance-heavy trade.

What does one real buyer actually pay?

Since Simpro publishes nothing, the closest thing to a real number comes from buyers reporting their own bills in reviews, which is opinion, not a rate card, but it's more than Simpro itself will tell you. One Capterra reviewer, in 2026, said they pay 200 NZD per user a month for Simpro, plus an extra 50 NZD a month for any user who also needs the mobile app. That's one business, in one country, on one plan configuration, so treat it as a sense of scale rather than your own likely bill. It does tell you two useful things: per-user pricing appears to be how at least some Simpro contracts are structured even though it isn't published, and the mobile app access for field technicians can be a separate line item rather than automatically bundled in.

Are there setup or training fees?

The pricing page lists Custom Training, Implementation and Professional Services as support items, with no cost shown and no statement of whether they're included in the Base Plan. Get four things in writing before you sign:

  • Cost: the price of setup, data import and training, as its own line.
  • Hours: how many hours of training are actually included.
  • Import: who moves your customers, price book and open jobs, and what happens if something comes over wrong.
  • Later: the price of additional training after go-live, once the free sessions are used up.

What else adds to the Simpro bill?

These sit outside any price page, and they're real costs:

  • Your own time: setting up price books, job types and reports takes real weeks of attention from the owner or office manager, not just the vendor's team.
  • Staff time: every technician and office user has to learn a new system while jobs keep coming in.
  • Integrations: Simpro connects directly to QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB and Sage, plus Stripe and suppliers like ADI, Reece and Rexel. Ask whether any specific link carries its own fee.
  • Reports: someone still has to build and maintain the specific reports your business actually wants.
  • Growth: ask directly how the price changes in year two when you add a user, a branch, or an add-on you skipped at signing.

How does Simpro pricing compare with tools that publish prices?

Use these as a yardstick, all re-checked live on 28 October 2026 in US dollars:

ToolPublished priceModel
ServiceM8Free, $29, $79, $149 and $349 a monthBy jobs per month (30 to 1,500+), unlimited users on every paid plan
Tradify$47, $51 and $61 per user a month, plus a Custom tier by requestPer user
JobberFrom $29 a month for one user on annual billing ($49 with no commitment)By plan and user count
Housecall Pro$59, $149 and $299 a month on annual billing (1, 5 and 8 users)By plan, with a set number of users included
ServiceTitanNone published, per technicianBy quote, same as Simpro

If your Simpro quote comes in well above these, that isn't automatically a reason to walk away. The real question is whether you'll use what the extra spend buys. Simpro's own comparison pages point at project and contract workflows, commercial job tracking, recurring maintenance, asset and inventory management, and advanced reporting as the gap versus lighter tools. If your business genuinely runs on those, the price can be fair. If it doesn't, a cheaper published-price tool may do the job just as well. My Simpro vs ServiceM8 guide walks through that specific decision. For trades working in pounds, the UK job management software roundup lines up Tradify, simPRO and others.

How do I get a Simpro quote that won't surprise you later?

  1. Write down your numbers. Office users, field users, branches and trades, since all of these move the quote.
  2. List the features you actually need. Digital Forms, Maintenance Planner, Takeoffs, SMS, VoIP and which Lightning agents matter to you.
  3. Request pricing and ask for a live demo on one of your real jobs, not a generic sample account.
  4. Ask for an itemized quote. Plan, every add-on, training, setup and the contract term, each on its own line, not folded into one monthly total.
  5. Ask for a second quote with one add-on removed. Seeing how much the total moves tells you what that add-on is actually costing you.
  6. Compare it against today's real cost. Your current software fees plus the hours your office already spends assembling reports by hand.

Can I get Simpro-style reports for less?

Often, yes. If what you actually want is profit by job, crew or customer, the tool you already run may already hold that data. A developer can read your jobs and invoices through an export or API and build the dashboard directly, without a platform move. See Simpro alternatives for other tools, and my Simpro API guide if you're already on Simpro and want more out of the data you're already paying for.

How I'd approach this

When someone asks me whether Simpro is worth it, I don't start with the price. I start with which of the heavier features, project workflows, recurring maintenance, multi-company reporting, they'll genuinely use every week. If the honest answer is "not much," I'll say so plainly, because a published-price tool like Jobber or Housecall Pro with a custom report built on top usually ends up cheaper and just as capable for that business.

When Simpro is the right fit, I help with the quote itself before anything is signed: making sure training, setup and every add-on are itemized, and that nothing shows up as a surprise line in year two. And if the gap is specifically reporting or a missing connection rather than the core platform, I can usually build that on top of the Simpro you already have, through its API, instead of adding another paid module. See my Simpro API guide for what that actually involves.

Questions people ask

Does Simpro publish its prices?

No. Simpro's pricing page lists a Base Plan and several add-ons with no dollar amounts, and every option leads to a Request Pricing form. Its product pages say price depends on team size, workflows and add-ons.

Is Simpro priced per user?

Simpro doesn't state this publicly. One Capterra reviewer in 2026 reported paying 200 NZD per user a month, plus 50 NZD a month for mobile app access, which suggests per-user billing for at least some contracts, but this is one buyer's reported experience, not a published rate.

What does Simpro Digital Forms cost?

Simpro lists Digital Forms as a paid add-on with no price shown anywhere public. You only see the figure on an itemized quote.

Are Simpro Lightning's AI agents included in the Base Plan?

Simpro's pages don't say plainly. Ask for each Lightning agent (JustAsk, FieldReady, JobReady, JobScribe, JobBrief) to be listed by name on your quote so you know which ones you actually get on day one.

Is there a cheaper tool with similar reports?

ServiceM8, Tradify, Jobber and Housecall Pro all publish prices and are considerably cheaper at small team sizes. Their built-in reports are lighter than Simpro's, so many owners who switch to one of them add a custom dashboard on top rather than losing reporting depth. Joblogic is another published-price yardstick, covered in the Joblogic alternatives guide.

How much does Simpro cost for a 10-person trade business?

There's no published figure to quote. Based on the one real buyer figure available (200 NZD per user a month plus 50 NZD for mobile access), a 10-person team with everyone on mobile could land somewhere around 2,500 NZD a month, but get your own itemized quote since add-ons, training and setup all move that number.
