CompanyCam alternatives: cheaper options, and the fix most crews miss

By Ranjit Bhinge, founder of Blur Studio · Updated · 6 min read

Short answer: CompanyCam's own pricing page lists Core at $63, Crew at $119 and Scale at $249 a month billed yearly ($79, $149 and $299 billed monthly), with extra users at $29 each and Enterprise by quote, all verified directly as of October 2026. Cheaper or different options include Fieldwire, with a free plan and a $39-a-user Pro plan, and Fieldd at $199 a month for 10 users with a built-in CRM. Raken sells by quote. Many crews do better keeping CompanyCam and connecting it to the job software they already pay for, which is usually cheaper than switching apps entirely.

You're paying for CompanyCam on top of your job software and want to know whether something cheaper exists, or whether the real fix is connecting the tools you already have.

I'm Ranjit, and I run Blur Studio: 15+ years building software, 120 apps taken live, and clients who have gone on to raise $10M+. I build AI systems and processes that help businesses do a lot more with a lot less time. I also work differently from most of what else is out there, more on that further down this page. Say hello.

How much does CompanyCam cost?

CompanyCam's pricing page shows four plans, and every figure below checks out against its own page as of October 2026. Crew and Scale prices have changed recently, so older guides may show different numbers.

PlanPrice a monthUsers includedBest for
Core$631 (2-user limit)Solo owners and small teams
Crew$1193Growing teams
Scale$2493Multi-crew operations
EnterpriseQuote only50 or moreMulti-location firms

Extra users cost $29 a month each on the first three plans. Prices in the table are billed yearly; month to month they are $79, $149 and $299. CompanyCam labels annual billing "Save 20%" (on Scale it works out nearer 17 percent), so check the billing toggle before you compare it with anything else. A free trial is offered.

Each plan adds more. Core includes timestamped photos and videos, job history, reports built from job photos, client job updates, offline work that syncs later, and a price book with invoicing for US and Canada companies, plus 10 AI credits a month. Crew adds real-time job tracking, checklists, auto-generated job reports, task assignment, a live job map, proposals built from voice notes and photos, and 100 AI credits. Scale adds unlimited workflow templates and reports, subcontractor access control, room measurement from the camera, signed agreements, and unlimited AI credits. Enterprise adds single sign-on, multi-location management and a dedicated success manager. On-site card payments work only for US-based companies.

Why do people look for a CompanyCam alternative?

The reasons are usually practical. Per-user cost adds up when you're paying for photos on top of your field service software. A photo app doesn't hold customers, schedules or invoices, so staff move between tools all day. One competing vendor, Fieldd, makes this point directly in its own marketing: photos have to be linked by hand and job notes copied across. That's a competitor's framing, worth reading with that in mind, but the underlying pattern is real for any crew with no link between its photo app and its job software.

Before you leave, check whether a link would fix it. My CompanyCam integrations guide lists what CompanyCam connects to, including Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, QuickBooks Online, Procore and SharePoint.

Blur Studio (best value)

A ready-built, well-tested core with a different pricing model: no per-seat fees, and it covers almost all the features you'd actually need, usually working out to the best value for money. On top of that, Blur Studio builds owned customizations, meaning you can ask for it to be modified to your exact specifications, and you own those modifications outright. Learn more over a quick call with me, Ranjit.

  • Best for: Businesses that need software that works without barriers, no unnecessary fees and options to customize it to their needs.

Fieldwire

Fieldwire's Basic plan is free for 5 users, 3 projects and 100 sheets. Pro is $39 a user a month billed annually and adds reports, exports and photo metadata stamps. Business is $64 and Business Plus is $89 a user a month, both also billed annually, with Business adding app integrations and 360-degree photos. All figures here check out against Fieldwire's own pricing page as of October 2026. It suits commercial and construction work with plans and punch lists more than a home service crew.

  • Best for: Construction and commercial crews that need plans, punch lists and photos in one place.

Fieldd

Fieldd's Start plan is $199 a month for 10 users, with online booking, payments, a service CRM and automated customer updates. Scale is $299 a month for 30 users and adds a branded customer app and two-way Zapier sync. Pro is $999 a month. A 7-day free trial is offered with no long-term contract. Fieldd positions itself as a CompanyCam alternative that bundles photos with the rest of the business, which is a vendor claim worth testing in a trial rather than taking at face value.

  • Best for: Service firms that want photos bundled into a CRM rather than paid for separately.

Raken

Raken's pricing page lists no plans or prices as of October 2026, so a quote is the only way to compare it. It covers digital daily reports and field tracking and suits contractors who report progress to general contractors.

  • Best for: Subcontractors who need daily reports a general contractor will accept.

Photos inside your job software

Some job software has photo features of its own, and Markate sells a CompanyCam link as a paid add-on at $10 a month, on top of its base plan at $49.95 a month plus $5 a employee (or $45.95 a month on annual billing). If your crew already uses job software, ask your vendor what photo tools come included in the plan before you add another subscription. For larger jobs, construction management software lists the main picks and prices.

  • Best for: Crews that want to avoid a separate photo subscription entirely.

What should you test before you switch?

Run a one-week trial on a real job and skip the demo job. Use this checklist.

  • Speed in the field: can a tech take, label and file a photo in a few taps with weak signal?
  • Offline use: CompanyCam lists offline work that syncs later. Ask each alternative the same question.
  • Reports: can you make a report a customer or insurer will accept, with dates, captions and before-and-after photos?
  • Linking: do photos reach the job in your job software, and how fast?
  • Exit: can you export every photo with its job name and date if you leave?
  • Real cost: add extra users, add-ons and card fees to the plan price before you compare it.

When should you keep CompanyCam?

Keep it if your crew likes it and uses it every day: a tool people actually use beats a cheaper one they skip. Keep it if you need photo reports for insurers, customers or adjusters, since CompanyCam's own reporting pages list Progress Recap, Summary and Daily Log report types. Keep it if you can link it to your job software, so photos land on the right job without copy and paste.

Switch if you're paying for several apps that overlap and one platform can cover photos too, if you work on plans and drawings more than on homes, which makes Fieldwire a better fit, or if the per-user cost is the main problem and a smaller crew needs only a shared folder. If plans and drawings matter more, Procore alternatives compares the bigger platforms.

How do you cut the cost without switching?

  1. Count who really needs a login. Office staff can often view photos through a shared link or through your job software instead of a full CompanyCam seat.
  2. Pick the smallest plan that includes the reports you actually need.
  3. Ask for the annual price, since billing yearly saves up to 20 percent on CompanyCam.
  4. Connect it to your job software and accounting so no one retypes anything.

How does Blur Studio approach this?

The usual problem isn't the photo app itself. It's that photos sit in one place, the job in another, and the invoice in a third. A thin layer fixes that: pulling the photos for every finished job into one report for the customer, or flagging jobs that closed with no after photos before an invoice goes out. I build layers like that around the tools you already have. If your needs are simple, a ready-made link between CompanyCam and your job software is enough, and I'll tell you that on the first call.

Need something completely custom?

Everything above is a path to get it running quick and cheap. But sometimes the honest answer is that none of those quite fit, and what you actually need is something custom that you own, built uniquely for your business from the ground up, with AI thoughtfully designed into the parts of it that your processes actually benefit from. An asset that grows in value, not a generic, one-size-fits-all boilerplate that's an expense with a lock-in. This is a complete bespoke build, and it's something I do very well. Questions people ask

What is the best CompanyCam alternative?

It depends on the work. Fieldwire suits construction plans and tasks, and Fieldd bundles a CRM with photos. Many crews do better keeping CompanyCam and linking it to their job software instead of switching.

Is there a free alternative to CompanyCam?

Fieldwire has a free Basic plan for 5 users, 3 projects and 100 sheets. It's built for construction plans and tasks rather than home service photos, so check that it fits your actual work before relying on it.

How much does CompanyCam cost per month?

As of October 2026, CompanyCam shows Core at $63, Crew at $119 and Scale at $249 a month billed yearly, or $79, $149 and $299 month to month, with extra users at $29 each on all three. Enterprise, for 50 or more users, is by quote only.

Which CompanyCam plan do I need?

Choose Core for a solo owner. Choose Crew when you need job tracking, checklists and auto-generated reports. Choose Scale for unlimited reports and subcontractor access.

Does CompanyCam work with Jobber and Housecall Pro?

Yes. CompanyCam's integrations page lists Jobber directly, and its help center has a dedicated Housecall Pro article. My CompanyCam integrations guide explains how the Jobber link works in practice.

Roughly what does this cost?

As a broad reference, fixes and finishes start at around $1,500, and new builds start higher, always a fixed price agreed in writing before I start, never an hourly rate. My AI app cost guide explains what actually drives a quote up or down.

Is my project too small for this?

No. Most of the owners I work with have no tech team at all, that is the whole point. If the smarter move is a cheap software subscription instead of custom software, I will tell you that on the first call, even though it means I do not get paid.
